The hotel is located in the heart of the historic district. Once we parked the car we didn't have to use it until we checked out. We were able to walk to everything. We were there for the 4th of July and were able to watch the fireworks from our room. Roomscwerevclean and staff was friendly. Good breakfast in the morning. Nice pool on the roof.

We stopped in Savannah for several days after visiting our son in the army in Georgia. We wanted to stay in the center of town to be able to walk to everything and boy did we make the right choice. The hotel is located close to everything. River St, Bay St. historic homes and a magnificent Cathedral and other historic churches. We could walk to everything, restaurants, old house tours boat rides, carriage rides, etc. Never had to use the car. In fact, the only time we took the car out was to go to Tybee Island, a shore town about twenty minutes away. A great way to combine a day at the beach with visiting Savannah. The hotel room was clean and inviting. Every afternoon the hotel put out cookies or other baked goods in the lobby along with refreshments. A nice touch! Breakfast in the morning was free and pretty much had everything you could want. They only have valet parking at the hotel which I normally don't use but I have to admit, the attendants were so courteous and quick to retrieve your car that it actually was quite nice for the price of $10 a day. Overall it was a great stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Across from the riverfront, room was clean and comfortable, the kids loved it because the pool was on the roof and had a great view, and breakfast was good. I think parking should be included in what ever price they quote ($20 additional).

First, the staff. The hotel should be proud. SO friendly. We got there at midnight & the guy insisted on getting the cart to take our bags up with, he held the door for us. Really nice. The next day we stopped and asked some questions at the desk & the gentleman was very very nice.
Next, the room. It was clean, beds comfortable. Very convenient to everything. Walking distance to a lot of stuff. Bathrooms big.
Breakfast was good. Was always busy and they were doing an excellant job of keeping the food filled up. It tasted really good too. Had a lot of variety.
If I had to pick a downfall would be the view fro the rooms was not great. But heck, that was not that big a deal since everything else was so good.

We've always had wonderful experiences at Hampton properties, and like the others, this one did not disappoint. The hotel is beautiful and in an awesome location, within easy walking distance to River Street and the historic district. Upon check-in, the valet parking staff was excellent. It costs $20 per night for the valet, but trust me, this amount is well worth it. There's a parking garage across the street that costs less, but we found it to be full at times. Also, because of the ability to walk to River Street, there was no need to fight the traffic and parking there. Every staff member we encountered was extremely friendly. Our room was on the 5th floor above Bay Street. We've seen some other reviews about problems with the traffic, but it didn't faze us much with the exception of a siren going by one night. We were able to get back to sleep comfortably with no problems. If you're a light sleeper, you might want a room not facing Bay Street. The only issue we had (if you want to call it that) was that one day, our room was not made until after 3:00 PM. Because we're morning people, we like to get out and about in the morning and may, from time to time, nap during the afternoon. The room wasn't ready when we were ready for a nap, but it's not a big deal. We found other things to do on River Street while we waited for the room. All in all, a fantastic trip, and we'll definitely be visiting the Hampton again when we make our way back to Savannah.
