Overall, not worth the money. We were looking for a convenient hotel for a quick overnight stay while driving north on I-95. As a Marriott Awards member, I am partial to the chain properties. Without a reservation, we stopped and asked for the best rate available. The desk clerk was friendly, helpful, and terrific. We took the room and unpacked the car.

Frankly the property is very dated and needs work. The plumbing fixtures were old and loose. Caulk repairs were clearly visible. When we went to make coffee this morning, the residual from prior guests was still in the maker.

Very plain hotel. For the money, try another Marriott and pass this one by.

This is the worst Marriott property. I have stay at a Marriott property during remodeling and did not experience any of these issues. The door to the room was broken and not working properly and maintenance never tried to fix it. Bathroom had mold and mildew and the fridge was a little dirty. The night staff didnt host the nightly reception because he was the only one there and stated he didnt have time to do it.

We recently spent the night at the Fairfield Inn in Savannah's Midtown. I have never stayed in a Fairfield before but I was extremely disappointed. Marriott recently took over this location and they appear to be in the middle of a renovation. The main doors to the property did not shut correctly, giving access to the hotel at night. We were awakened twice in the middle of the night with someone knocking on our door, once around 2:30 AM and then again around 5:00 AM. Rooms are very small, especially the bathroom. The granite slab over the toilet was not secure and was falling down, the glass in the microwave was broken and the bed skirt was fiflty. When we arrived, one of the supervisors was working the hall. She gladly showed up to our room and let us in. She noticed pillows out of place, so she asked us to wait outside the room for a few minutes. When I peered into the room it looked as if the pillow were out of place and I was concerned someone had already used the room and left. We did mention our safety concerns the next morning. Staff was very nice.

Room Tip: Rooms on lower floors open to outside and rooms on top floor open to inside hallway.

Our location has always been a Fairfield Inn by Marriott. It is what is known as a "First Generation Fairfield Inn". Our company purchased the hotel May 10, 2013 are immediately began a renovation project that we hope to have completed by Novmber 1, 2013.

I would also like to apologize for someone knocking on your door twice during the night. This is something that is not normal for our hotel and we are taking steps to prevent this type of issue from occuring again in the future.

Stayed here in July of 2012 so booked the hotel again this year. Had a room on the third floor with inside corridors last year and although requested this year, the floor was fully occupied when we arrived.
First and second floor rooms open to the outside and are small and tired inside. Sink in the room, small bath, no closet, mini-fridge or microwave. More like a budget hotel than a Marriot property.
However, the room, lobby and eating area were very clean, the staff efficient, friendly and professional, and the cost reasonable for the area at < $70.00. Outside renovations were ongoing during our stay so perhaps the rooms will get a needed face lift as well.
On the way back down we stayed at the Fairfield Inn at I-95 South and while a little more costly, much more of what we have come to expect from a Fairfield Inn.

Room Tip: Make sure to get an inside hall 3rd floor room; they are larger, less noisy and more updated.

I stayed there for 5 days and the hotel is very good. There is a breakfast included and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The hotel is near to many facilities like Publix and others.
The staff is very kind and can suggest many options to have fun in the city. You can also visit TYBEE Island, a beach near Savanah (20 min).

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet and comfortable

Room was small but clean...Do not try to put more than 2 people in the room...We had a King bed and we were OK...Room was cool but had a Very Damp feeling to it....Breakfast was ok and the staff we talked to were friendly...Not a bad location from Downtown, but Room dampness was a big minus...

We stayed at this hotel after switching from another hotel while my daughter was in the nicu. The only good thing about this hotel is they have good breakfast. Not once was my room cleaned during my 3 day stay. We had to go get our own clean towels. Trash was left in front of our door a if they attempted to clean our room. We ended up switching to a hotel next door. I would not recommend staying here if you are too busy to clean your own room and provide supplies for your own room.
