We had read reviews for this hotel and we were not quite certain if we had made the correct choice in booking a stay over on our trip to the Keys. This hotel was very good. The young lady at the front desk was very welcoming and gave us alot of information to help us get around the area. I have forgotten her name now but did mention to her Supervisor the next day how the initial greeting can mean so much and this lady did quite well. The hotel was clean and in a good area for us to do a bit of touring while there. They have a nice breakfast each morning and everything was fresh - fruits and breads. The price was affordable and it was easy access from the hwy. Although there is no restaurant at the hotel there are a variety of different eateries close by. Abercorn is the main street in Savannah so this hotel made getting to the local attractions very easy.

Hotel service and maintenance was deplorable. Our sink did not drain (disgusting) and even after reporting the problem was ignored because there was one staff person available the entire evening for check-in or other guest requests. The shower stall still had the former guests' hair on the wall and in the soap dish. {Human, not furry friend}. If you have a dog this is a place to stay, but if you don't, make another choice.

This hotel is ridiculously bad and I am generally a positive reviewer. We stayed here when my son was graduating medical school there at Mercer in Savannah. It was the closet hotel to his house which was towards skidaway. The check-in went smooth but the room itself was subpar. It was old, the door was beaten and starting to rot in some places especially around the safetly latch. You could literally see into the hallway from where it had worn down. The light fixture shades were paper and glued together. The heat/ac controls (although there on the unit) had been rerouted to a wall thermostat in a very hidden location and the staff had no clue - they were going to move us to another room when I finally found it. The blankets were old and tattered in places. The sheets and pillows appeared clean and overall it was clean but very old and not just old but tattered in appearance and condition. For 100plus (we were there on st. patricks weekend) it was ridiculously overpriced. For the condition of the room it should have been less than $50 - It was loud and you had no filter from hall noise due to holes in the door. Definitely beware of this one!

We recently stayed at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites during Spring Break. Although our room was not ready when we arrived and we had to wait 30 minutes for them to find us a room, we ended up enjoying our stay. The staff, including the manager, were very friendly and courteous. We found the room and hotel to be clean during our visit. The bathroom was small with no space to really move around, but the bed was comfortable. It was nice to have breakfast waiting for you downstairs. We were also able to take our dog with us.

I needed a place on the way to Miami that allowed dogs and was convenient to getting to the historic downtown area. This stay was perfect for that. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They advised me of all sorts of parks to take the pup to for letting off car trip steam. They were kind and helpful when I needed change or a bottle opener or directions. The breakfast area was clean. I'd rather real plates and utensils to be more green, but....

I'd stay here again for sure.

Room Tip: I appreciated my front room on the first floor all the way at the end....perfect for unloading dog a...

This place could break a record for the smallest bathroom. I have been in port-a-potties that were about that size. The ac units are as old as Jerusalem and extremely loud at that. The bathroom fan had dust on it that was about an inch thick. Front desk staff were pleasant but one lady with dirty blond hair wearing an apron slapped me with her eyes when I told her something was weird with the complimentary oj at the continental brkfst. She replied, "well what do u want me to do? It's coming out." She was the only rude person I encountered there. Pool was clean so that was a plus and no rowdy spring breakers. My stay was ok for the price of about $59/night during the week of spring break. It wasn't bad but, I think next time I will spend a little more money for the comfort.

This place is not good. The staff is very welcoming and nice. The rooms are worn but the baths are clean. The halls are dirty and the first floor laundry is open with a huge fan going because it is so hot. The elevator smells like there is an electrical fire. The outdoor trash is overflowing. The hotel is on a busy and noisy highway, The faucets are reversed. The lights are poor quality. There is no freezing compartment in the refrigerator. The decor is ...unusual. It is not the closest to the historic district. The LQ in Pooler is much better!
