“Good place to stay”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

If you're complaining about the price, remind yourself of where you're staying. Rooms in Williston are hard to come by and this hotel isn't any higher than the average. However, you're going to get an above-average stay when you stay here. The hotel is nice and clean; the staff is friendly enough; they offer breakfast. The rooms are large and well furnished. You are offered two soft pillows and two firm pillows (labeled on the covers; I've never seen this before). The beds are comfortable too. If you're looking for long-term, stay at the Candlewood located just across the parking lot. However, for short-term this is hard to beat.
Located within walking distance of the airport and Walmart. There is one restaurant close by (Big Willy's), but for anything else you're going to be driving. There is a Subway in the Walmart, though.

This was my first night in "the oil fields" and I knew about the crazy high rates and scarcity of rooms so I was a little nervous. But this was a great Holiday Inn, new and spotlessly clean, with huge, huge rooms! Still, $225 a night? Wow, definitely big city prices. Good location next to the airport--and next to a Walmart as well! The new breakfasts at HI Expresses seem to be standardized throughout the country now (same layout in Boston in June as in North Dakota in September) and they are darn good and really add to the value of the stay.

The hotel is new & quiet, but that may have been because it was Labor Day & everyone stayed home!
The room was spacious, the bed comfortable & the choice of pillows a bonus. Too many hotels have uncomfortable pillows, which means a poor nights sleep do me!
There is no restaurant in the hotel, so we ate at 'Big Willy's' as it was right next to the hotel. Food was OK, fries too thin & overlooked. The service was good & the staff really friendly. The air con was too cold too. I had to go & sit outside until my meal came. We would have eaten outside if the flies had left us alone! Not Big Willy's fault though!
Would stay at the hotel again & wear warmer clothes to eat at BW's

Room Tip: Make sure you're not by a lift or ice machine. High floor is best too

I know the overpriced room is due to the booming economy and the supply/demand of the area, but $169/night during the week was a little much. The room was nice and spacious, the a/c worked very well, the room was clean, and it was a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was very good, fresh, and well stocked. There were alot of oil workers staying there which I found somewhat, for lack of a better word, annoying. As when they got off work that evening were loudly enjoying adult beverages in the parking lot.

This fast-growing boom town gauges the visitor. Because it is currently an oil-boom town, you will pay dearly if you are just traveling through. We first tried the Super-8 and they wanted $115 for an old hotel with sketchy internet connection – something we definitely needed. Next we tried the quite new Holiday Inn Express, and at $170/night (weekend cheaper rate), they would not honor any AAA or AARP discounts. The front desk woman wasn’t very skilled at finding our priority club membership number and sent my husband out to the car to get it, although by the time he returned, she had finally found it. Normally priority club members receive a gift bag or at least a bottle of water, but there was nothing. In paying that much for an overnight, we expected things like more than one towel in the room (for the two of us), and the “always available coffee” in the lobby – which were empty and cold. The air conditioning system wasn’t the best – it cycled cold then got too warm, on and off all night, so neither of us slept well. They did have a great internet connection, with lots of available outlets. Breakfast had good choices and was well stocked. A good room, overpriced due to what the local market is charging, but only average.

All the great things about a Holiday Inn Express. With a shortage of rooms, and high on the prices.

This was our first night of a two week road trip, and writing on the last night of my vacation, this hotel holds the record for price.

Not to slag on the hotel, because it was great. Stay away from Williston and areas. This is oil territory, and it drives up prices on everything! And going to a local restaurant will be an expensive, loud, vulgar experience. Cover the ears of your kids, and get the females to cover up!

Flew into Williston, ND to visit husband from May 17-20 and enjoyed this hotel. Got a great price and was very pleased with my stay. Breakfast was wonderful each morning and even took time to swim in the pool. Workmen were in the building doing minor paint work to a couple of rooms but that did not affect my stay. Housekeeping was very respectful of the Do Not Disturb signs. All in all, I believe I got my moneys worth.
