This was one of the worst hotels I have ever encountered. Checked in at 3:00 pm (king suite) and dropped off our luggage, then went to visit our son. Around 11:00 pm we returned to our hotel room and attempted to turn on the TV. It didn't work. Easy enough they offered to put us in another room. Got to the new room (not a king suite) and five min. later the phone rang. We couldn't stay in the room because a guest was checking in the following morning. Waited 20 min for our new room. The night clerk gave us the key and left. Again not a King suite. We walked in and the room was freezing cold, turned on the light, looked over at the bed to see the most disgusting stain in the middle of the sheet. No comforters on any of the beds by the way! Called the front desk and got a somewhat exasperated sounding clerk. Told him about the stain and asked him to just give us back the room with the broken TV. No problem he came up and gave us the key. Thank goodness that was over-with...NOT. Got ready for bed pulled down the sheets and low and behold, someones long brown hair as well as pubic hair was all over it. We decided to try and find another hotel. Before we left we stopped at the front desk asked for our money back because of the condition of the rooms. He told us he wasn't authorized and we would have to get hold of the Manager and could come back in the morning. Next morning we go back to the hotel. The front desk clerk says manager won't be in until next Monday and she doesn't know how to refund our money because it's in "limbo". She made a phone call when we insisted she credit our bank account. While on the phone she was walked through the process and then told us that the transaction was cancelled and that it never really posted. I got home and checked my bank account. We were charged for a two night stay! My son lives in Vancouver so the word is spreading quickly Do not stay here!

Looking for hotel in N Vancouver after a day touring --followed GPS arrived expecting Holiday Inn Express -assumed that this has changed brands--great welcome -clean , quiet and comfortable. adequate breakfast although some items were for microwaving -there was no microwave and no one to assist.

Excellent rooms - both times - clean - breakfast was good and plentiful. Coffee needed to be improved. And hot tub was not warm enough. But overall a fine place to stay. Love the building and the lobby. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: First floor was very convenient to poll & hot tub and to accessing car.

I sayed in the Gateway Inn 8-24 through 8-27. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, and the staff was very friendly with lots of advice about local attractions. Location was in a quiet neighborhood where we felt safe and our car was safe. The Hot Tub was a little too hot. but clean and useful for the aches in our backs from a long drive. The indoor pool was also clean and felt cool and refreshing after a busy day. I liked the free waters that they haded out liberally at the front desk. I would definitely stay there again if I am in the area. The breakfast was better than most free hotel breakfasts that you get in the chain hotels.

I took my 9 year old son to this hotel for two nights to escape a heat .We both were so excited to have a 'staycations ' , we are local residents to Vancouver. With our house not having AC and temperature in a house runnning up to 86 degrees even at night ,we both were looking forward to having nice airconditioned room ,chillded drinks and popocorn .Well ,even after double-checking on their website that hotel does have refrigerators, the reality was that NO,not in our room .

I asked about the fridge nicely again at the front desk ,because we brought bunch of softdrinks that need to be chilled, .I was told there were only three extra refrigerators for the whole hotel to switch around.

We also did not find a microvawe .For the price of the room we paid ,which was $84 plus tax, next time we need to chill in Vancouver we will definately go across the street to La Quinta.
Not even an ice mashine on our third floor.I ended up houling bags of ice from the other floor and chilling our drinks in a bathtub.
Cheap !!! What a disappointment.

Room Tip: I foyu must stay here ,call ahead and demand to the front desk that you are expecting to have a fridge and microwave in your room .You might need to upgrade and pay few more bucks to have it ,but it is better than later running for ice and not having microwave to heat your food. ,especially if you are staying with kids.
