Not a big place, but our breakfast was great. On Sunday's they have waffles, which looked great although we didn't try them. I had the sausage biscuits and gravy which was wonderful (if not particularly healthy). Dad liked the hot chocolate so much he got seconds. Pretty informal, but the staff really seemed to be proud of the place.

I wish we could say we scouted this location out after much research but what really happened is that we accidentally took the wrong bus and, after being dropped in Vancouver while heading to Portland, we aimlessly walked with luggage and rolling computer bags trying to find a way back across the river to breakfast and a series of morning meetings. It didn't take us long to figure out that it would be better to find fuel before walking back across. We asked a nice local lady walking her dog about a place that might offer food and coffee and lo-and-behold she simply tossed her head slightly to the right and there was Brewed.

Kevin, the owner working that day was brilliant and helpful. He could just tell we'd had a morning and he offered the special (that was being prepared by grandma... we later learned that he meant it) which we quickly took him up on and then added sides of NY style bagels with bijax (sp?!?). I've no idea how to spell it but I can tell you that I've headed back across the river twice during my trip to have breakfast there. Nothing over the top, just simple fare made well and uniquely to get you going on your day. Also, so inexpensive that I questioned the cost. Every time.

Our story was only made better by having one of Brewed's regular customers offer to take us across the river to our destination in rush hour even though she wasn't even remotely heading that way. It made our day and made us not late for important work. All around I just can't say enough - great food, great ambiance and great people. Give it a try. Tell your friends.

Dave's killer bread, and that's just for starters. Also outstanding espresso. Really, nothing to complain about at all.

This is a great place to grab a wonderful house roasted coffee beverage from one of the cheerful barristas, or grab a beer while watching NFL Redzone on the weekend. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced. If you want the coolness of Portland, without the pomp, circumstance, and the drive, look no further Brewed is the place to be.
