“Not authentic by any means but edible in a pinch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2013 via mobile

After you place your order you see them put what looks like small, gray, very thin slabs of pressed meat on a flat grill and briefly heat them. They put it on pretty good pita adding lettuce and lots of supposed taziki sauce (again unauthentic and bland) and maybe a tiny piece of tomato. Nothing special and I've definitely had much better. Won't return.

“Satisfy That Gyro Craving!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

I had heard through my son that there was a new Gyro place in town so I had to go and try it for myself. I was expecting a sit down restaurant and found the Getta Gyro is a "drive up only" eatery. It is in a former esspresso place located in the parking lot of a gas station and self car wash place. I ordered the traditional gyro with lamb and beef. From the window of my car, I could see the two employees working at building my sandwich. Instead of the traditional "doner" where you would see your sandwich meat carved from a round clump of meat then grilled. The meat they used was pre-made (like most restaurants use) portions that they grilled. My sandwich was very good and tasted just as good as one is made from the traditional doner (meat clump). I will be back to Getta Gyro again.

“Great Gyros, Great Prices!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2013

My family's tradition on Sunday is to go the Vancouver Farmer's Market for Lunch. We always eat the gyros at the same tent. Just found out we can get gyros everyday, since they opened up a little drive through place. Yeah. Great Gyros, Great Prices. You can't go wrong if you like gyros.

“Mmmmm gyro”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2013

Just stopped in this place's brick and mortar location which is just like a coffee kiosk but instead of some young punk listening to lousy rap too loud handing you burned coffee you have a cool guy like Dennis just chatting you up while putting together your lamb/beef blend gyro. Having eaten their food before at the local farmers markets, I knew it'd be good, but it was fun to finally be driving near this location in East Vancouver and enjoy it for supper. The thing that makes their gyro one of the best is the quality pita, very light and fluffy but tough enough to hold the mounds of lamb, lettuce, onion, tomato and copious amounts of feta and tzatziki sauce. Drive on past those burger joints and stop here instead for a fresh and tasty bit of fast food.

“Folks in "the Couv", rejoice!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2013

Who knew that a tiny drive thru could crank out such delicious eats! No seating...who cares?!
We tried the vegetarian, chicken and beef gyros, as well as the baklava. Took it home and chowed down. All very authentic, delicious and incredibly reasonable. Highly recommended.
