This inconspicuous bakery is not great for eating a snack, except in summer when you can sit outside. The French-style cakes are good, while the more Japanese rolls are delicious.

Japanese & french & who knows what else? Fun oriental pastries from a local shop. Tasty & unusual. More than one location.

Loved their African Queen and Cointreau. Azuki cream puff was good too. Not the greatest location. Given you can rarely find good like pastries in this city (If you think otherwise, PLEASE tell me... really!!) I would keep going back there for their overpriced and kinda strange smelling African Queen.

Have been here numerous times, really wanting to love it--but the pastries are just so-so. On the other hand, if you are looking for bizarro Asian snacks, they have lots. From Pocky sticks in a range of types to unidentifiable sweets that are more likely to be fish-flavored, it's a real adventure. (The packaging is half the fun!)

My friend and I went to Cambridge specifically to go to this bakery. We became worried when the location was not open at 10:30, 11:30 since we were dropped off by a cab to go to the Japonaise Bakery. We hung out at Bourbon Coffee since we had come all of the way from Utah and would not be back again. Finally, we were about to leave (after noon) and we swung by just in case. They were just opening up and we ordered a few pastries. They were delicious! Although there was not seating, we enjoyed eating our baked goods in Harvard Square and we were happy they finally opened. We hope they will post hours and be more consistent with opening in the future.
