“Outstanding Restoration Of A Very Historic Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

This is a beautiful place, Washington's sister lived here for a time. It had quite a guest list including Washignton, Jefferson and many of the notables of that period. We were very fortunate to have as a guide a young lady who just that day had graduated from Mary Washington University with a degree in Colonial Restorations. She was exceptionally entertaining and really knew her stuff. The house has the original moldings and woodwork, the plaster ceilings are the originals. The furnishings for the most part are not original but authentic reproductions from that period. House is wonderfully maintained. The adjacent outbuildings include a Colonial Era kitchen. Highly recommend for adults.

Seven of us visited Kenmore while we were down for a wedding. It was very interesting and worth the visit. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history.

“Beautiful Ceilings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

One of the most beautiful Georgian mansions I have visited. The plasterwork on the ceilings is second to none. They let you take photos inside. Gardens are beautiful and were the first ones reconstructed by the Garden Club of Virginia back in 1929.
