“Amazing!!! ”
Reviewed 27 August 2014 via mobile

A+++++ in hospitality! Lovely home and owners.
They went above and beyond and gave us the most amazing experience in a friendly, warm and welcoming bed and breakfast.
Al and Verna are the best hosts I've ever stayed with! They provided us with so much information and highlighted maps of popular areas and dining.
My parents had a beautiful room and my partner and I were given unexpected seriously awesome accommodations!
Best place to stay in Fairbanks!
Sammy the puppy gives amazing licks ☺️
200% recommended!

We stayed at the Log Cabin B&B after our cruise-tour of Alaska ended in Fairbanks. We were primary interested in a day trip to the Arctic Circle and just needed a base in the city. It turned out to be a very pleasant room and very convenient to the main downtown part of Fairbanks. Our room was in the Studio which consisted of the living quarters upstairs (including the kitchen) and the bathroom downstairs. This configuration was no problem for us. The refrigerator was well stocked with breakfast supplies which we really liked because we could pick and choose.

Allen picked us up and dropped us off at the airport for our Arctic excursion as well our departure flight from Fairbanks. He was very helpful and offered a wealth on information about the area. He and Verna were very good hosts and great to talk to. Be sure to watch the Alaskan Pipeline video - Allen is in it! Strongly recommended if you are looking for a nice and cost effective stay in Fairbanks!

Room Tip: Choose the Studio if you like privacy and want a kitchen.

Allen greets you at the door with a big smile and a personally marked map showing you Fairbanks attractions and instructions on how to get to them.

We rented the Hall house, a 2 BR house across the street. It's spotless and nicely decorated. The full kitchen (that we didn't use) is well equipped and there is all kinds of stuff to make yourself breakfast with. They even supply popcorn and a popper to make an evening snack.

It is an easy walk to downtown. Definitely a great value.

Very nice studio at a good price. Allen and Verna were very pleasant hosts. We stayed in the studio apartment which is upstairs with the bathroom and dressing area downstairs. The upstairs is very room with a comfortable bed. The bathroom downstairs is also very roomy. Very clean and cozy. The refrigerator was stocked with lots of breakfast choices. This trip was only our second time staying in B&Bs and must say, we did enjoy being able to make our own breakfast instead of being with others. Allen gave us some great information about Fairbanks as well as where to have dinner. Would recommend their place to anyone looking for a nice place at a good price to stay while in Fairbanks. Like another reviewer said, we would give it a 5 but it's not a 5 type of place. Definitely a 4.5 though!

We had a great time at Downtown Log Cabin Hideaway Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the room with the king-sized bed, and although it's never our first choice to have to go downstairs to the bathroom in the night, this is no great inconvenience when considered in the context of a very comfortable bed, very spacious room, lots and lots of food available for our breakfast choices, and handy walking distance to restaurants. Al was a superb host and suggested dozens of activities for us in and around Fairbanks--so many we'll have to return to enjoy them all! Turns out Al moved to Alaska to work on the Alaska Pipeline many years ago--and interesting fact that we didn't know until we watched a PBS video about the building of the Pipeline. We spent many nights in B&Bs across Canada and in Alaska. Al and Verna have made a very comfortable nest for folks on the road. Don't hesitate to stay here!

Room Tip: We really enjoyed the room with the king-sized bed. Lots of privacy, many windows, bright and cheer...

Al and Verna were great hosts. We used the studio apartment and their emergency loft. Great value for money, great location. Al gave great recommendations for dinner, shopping etc. the food supplied in the fridge was more than enough. Bagels, muffins, eggs, bread, yoghurt. You want for nothing. They certainly are great hosts. We were only there for two nights as we came in late the night before our arctic circle tour and then that night we got back late. Would highly recommend and if we ever came back to Fairbanks would stay without hesitation.

Al and Verna very helpful, full of useful informations about Fairbanks and Alaska, conversation with them was a big pleasure for us. They gave us a map of the town with main attractions marked. Room was clean and confortable, Verna's breakfast was simply great.

Room Tip: Worth of price
