“Very helpful employees and nice hotel”
Reviewed 10 July 2013

While vacationing in the area we had to put our vehicle in a repair shop in Fairbanks. We ended up staying two nights at Bridgewater. The day shift lady and the day shift hotel manager both helped us tremendously - giving excellent suggestions for meals, sight-seeing tips, etc. They went above and beyond by helping us transport our wheelchair "scooter" from our vehicle at the mechanic shop to the hotel for our family member with a disability. The hotel was charming and clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as their service meant so much to us.

Room Tip: Had a room on the second floor on the very end of the hall - no noise.

we thoroughly enjoyed this hotel.....the rooms were comfortable and the staff was so very friendly and nice. They gave us lots of good advice on where to eat, shop, and what to see...we had great view from the room of river and park and the hotel has a great patio area for relaxing and having a drink. great place to stay in Fairbanks.

So glad I decided to choose the Bridgewater for our stay. The staff from the front desk to Raymond the shuttle driver couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The free shuttle service from the train depot and to the airport was prompt and a wonderful feature. The free wireless internet worked better than in some larger chain hotels. We had a fantastic view of the Chena River from our window. Sorry we didn't have a chance to use their free town trolley service.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the Chena River

We stayed in the bridgewater before and after we went to Denali. What the hotel lacks in contemporary decor, it makes up with the friendly staff, clean rooms, and amenities. They have a laundry area where I could do my own laundry as we were gone long enough I couldn't pack all I wanted. Because I like to line dry my clothing they provided me with many hangers. They helped me by obtaining mass times, suggesting reasonable places to eat (the Diner was way better than the Italian restaurant by them), and just being kind. I would easily stay here again

Small but clean rooms. Good location in downtown area, easy walking to park. Beds and pillows not very comfy, but rooms are quiet. Front desk staff friendly and accommodating. We went to the Farmer's market, fun and easy to walk to. Close to many downtown restaurants. Convenient parking.

I like the central location of this hotel. The Morris Thompson cultural centre and the Ice museum are within walking distance. Another plus is the free hourly shuttle service covering major tourist attractions in the area and shopping at the Fred Myers. You can also arrange wake up calls to see Northern Lights.
Nothing to complain about the services. I haven't had meals though. There are many restaurants around.

Pretty ok hotel but really Old. They have central heating so if you get to hot your only control is the window. Other than that staff was freindly and the room was clean. Ok to rest your head. They have a breakfast buffet, cold stuff $10 and hot and cold $15 about the norm for Alaska, enough to fill your tank for the day ahead.
