We were impressed. Could understand the carver only sometimes. Beautiful displays including an ice slide. Wear a coat no matter how hot it is outside.

“Exceptional and Impressive”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

This museum is ~60 miles from Fairbanks and is a long drive. If you have the car, this is well worth the visit because this museum is in the Chena Hot Springs Resort where you could also do many other items - Hot Springs, Horseback riding, Dog sled ride, Greenhouse visit and so on. if there is a tour package that I have seen as ridiculously priced, please don't do that. It is not worth that. The Ice Museum is $15/Adult and $10/ Child up-to 17 years. The museum provides you with thick jacket because it is 20F inside; however, carry gloves because the hands do freeze up and wear long pants, jeans or something similar. The inside tour is 45 minutes and can be freezing. These tours have fixed timings so time your departure from Fairbanks accordingly. The drive takes 75-90 minutes one way.

“Long Drive - Neat but MUCH Less Impressive Than I anticipated”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

So if you have already made it all the way to Fairbanks and have an afternoon to spend, this certainly one of the ways to do it, but after having done many things, it probably wouldn't make my list unless I was going there to overnight as well.

First, very long drive (doing it around October didn't help because we had blowing snow, etc) and there is a limit to how interesting the same scenery is when you are driving well over an hour.

Second, once we got there, tickets and a tour guide into what ended up being a much smaller facility than you would think (although keeping the ice from melting doesn't really push for a larger space. A mixed drink in an ice glass at the end is neat, but I'm not sure its worth the drive.

Dinner at the adjacent restaurant was equally uninspiring (although at that point, nobody is interested in driving all the way back without eating)!

“Awesome!!”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 via mobile

This place is phenomenal! I just love the sculpture and the amazing xylophone! You can actually play it! The cool thing is that it's made of ice!!! I just love the Ice hotel/museum. Not just that you can drink one of their appletini in a ice glass cup! Hahaha how cool is that??
