This is a nice place to go if you are into this sort of thing. The bowls are nice souvenirs, but are expensive. Watching them be made is pretty cool.

Stopped in to see the operation. Not making bowls on Saturday. But you can pick a bowl and watch them burn an image. Really cool Alaskan made memory.

I saw this place advertised and thought the Alaskan made bowl might make a nice memento of my trip so I made a visit. We were met at the entrance and were educated on the three kinds of bowls that were made on the premises. There is a viewing window to see the workers make the bowls but they were not in operation while we were visiting. The bowls which come in many sizes are very pretty but a little pricey. The store also stocks other wooden products, food items, souvenirs, and jewelry. Nothing very fancy about the store and there was no pressure to buy.

We went here on a whim as we were driving by and decided to check it out. Throughout Alaska, everyone is proud of Made in Alaska. Well, the same goes here. You can find many items created by Alaskans and even watch them make some. Also, it is now just bowls, there are wonderful birch bowls, cups, and other items which make great gifts for family or yourself.

My husband and I purchased a beautifully carved bowl from here and it came with a free stand. The prices are not low, but everything is made right there. The only drawback is that there do not carve in the winter so we weren't able to watch them at work. Go to the visitors center in fairbanks first and you will get a coupon for a free gift. It was nice, but it would have been better if we could have seen them in action.
