Although I was travelling solo I was given a large room with 2 queen beds and a great view of the Chena River (which I requested in advance). The bar food was good and inexpensive. There is a hotel shuttle which if free can take you wherever you need to go.

The Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge is a couple minutes from the Airport, on the banks of the Chena River. It has ample free parking, with plug-ins at every parking spot for plugging the car in during the winter months to keep the block from freezing. It's easy to get to. The hotel itself is very nice. The foyer/check in area is gorgeous with Alaskan accents. It has a nice gift shop, an upscale restaurant and bar on the main floor, and my room was attractive and comfortable. You will have to ask for a room on the River side. If you get a room on the other side, your view will likely be of the airport and the road.

Stayed here as part of a conference hosted at the hotel. The hotel's location more or less right across the highway from the Fairbanks Int'l Airport made its location ideal for the conference we were participating in.

As a guest, I was impressed by the hotel in that I had a deluxe room that was about as big as a basketball court. It was clean, quiet and very modern etc compared to some other comments posted re room decor. The bed was very comfortable and slept well. Restaurant food was very good and seemingly in line with prices at town restaurants (i.e., the Pumphouse Restaurant). Same for the giftshop - in fact t-shirts were cheaper priced than most (guess will see how well they wear/launder to see if I got my $$ worth there).

As part of the seminar, found their conference facilities to be plenty adequate - big bright rooms, good audio/visual support etc and their catering staff worked their tails off getting meal to seminar participants, setting up room properly for sessions, etc.

Bottom line, I was impressed and I'd be back.

There is nothing really wrong with this hotel, it's just that it could be better. The front desk (for check in & out, requests for information) was slow and not too savy and the meeting room we used was either too cold or too hot. The decor in rooms and public areas is passable, but you'd think that with all the natural beauty and native art in and around Fairbanks, they could do more.

We spent two nights here, using Fairbanks as our base to travel to/from Barrow on a day trip. The hotel is quite close to the airport, probably only a 5-minute drive. It rained on both our nights here, which was a shame because one of the restaurants had an outdoor deck along the banks of the Chena River that we were unable to enjoy. I think there were three stories to this hotel in two different wings (one newer than the other). The lobby area was pleasant, with comfy couches, a nice fireplace, and game tables (there was another game/TV room on the second floor lobby). The rooms were standard chain hotel rooms. We had a king room that had a small table/chairs, chair/ottoman, sink area outside the actual bathroom, some minor toiletries provided, hair dryer, clock. Rates were low, so I would stay here again, particularly if flying into/out of Fairbanks (I think it was a bit far from the downtown area, though). There were two restaurants, as well as a bar/restaurant (Trackers, where we ate one night; good comfort food next to a roaring fire). The hotel gift shop is one of the nicest that I’ve seen, with a good selection of quality items, and also with a little deli/cafe bar and outdoor seating.

We stayed at the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge as part of a Princess cruise/land tour. The Princess cruise was excellent and everything you would expect from Princess. The Princess Riverside Lodge was a huge disappointment. While the hotel is on a river, it is unlikely that you would know it if they did not tell you. Only one restaurant and deck in the hotel is oriented to the river and it was closed when we were there. Otherwise this is just an oversized Motel 6. The lobby and common areas are OK, however, maintenance is lacking. The fake stone floor finish is coming up all over the lobby and corridors. The internet computers are buried in the basement by a laundry room. The restaurants are overpriced and not of very good quality. I would suggest you go to one of the adjacent restaurants that is actually oriented to the river. The rooms are very cheaply done and about the quality of a budget motel. If you are expecting any charm or great rustic/rural setting you will be greatly disappointed.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our Princess Landtour/cruise. Room was fine but overlooked the car park. We had read in other reviews that Princess customers were given the best rooms but this obviously isn't the case as there are nicer rooms overlooking the river. Didn't like the buffet breakfast in Edgewater Restaurant. There wasn't much choice and the handles of the serving spoons on the buffet were sticky. The waiter-served breakfast in the Tracker Restaurant was far better. There was a good gift shop where you could also buy coffee and pastries.
