We have visited this garden as well as the state one in Anchorage and this one wins hands-down. The garden is divided into sections. The first is flowers and contains some of the most stunning flowers of Alaska, and also varieties from other areas and countries. The second area is a small water area with benches. The third is a sizable vegetable garden that shows how spectacular 24 hours of sun is to a cabbage :0). The fourth area is a childrens garden and maze. The entrance fee is minimal by honesty box, and it is a great way to see many of Alaska's grand flowers in one afternoon. I am an amateur photographer, and love to photograph here. They have a small gift shop on sight also.

We visited the botanical garden in July, and the flowers were gorgeous. The garden is small, and there is a $2 admission fee. We felt it was worth the visit, especially if you're going to the University of Alaska Fairbanks museum that is in the same area.

Cost of admission is $2 per person. (i think kids are free)

The area is well maintained and has lots of different plants/flowers. It will only take about an hour to walk all around the area. But you can go here before/after the museum on campus.

Across the street there is a huge field and a lot of geese were gathering there (Sept. 1,2008). The place is kid friendly though they ask that you not pick anything while there.

If you havent seen huge vegetables before this place will afford you the opportunity to see some. I only saw huge cabbage while I was there though.
