“Learned alot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2013

The presentation about the musk ox, reindeer and caribou was great. The guide was very knowledgeable. The animals came right up the the fence so we could get a good look at them. Never knew so much could be learned about these animals.

“Reindeer and Muskox, up close!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2013

Check out tour times to make sure you can see the animals up close and personal. This was very informative and interesting, and the staff did a marvelous job of explaining both the animal and the programs.

“Excellent Presentation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2013

Our guide was very informative. Go knowing the tour is limited to seeing females due to the size and strength of the male Muskox. It is a working farm so expect work to be ongoing while you visit. They were mowing the front area when we arrived. Yes, you get to see a few female Muskox up close with excellent commentary and yes, you get to see a few Reindeer and Caribou up close with excellent commentary. Ask questions and they will be answered. Male Muskox were in large metal containment areas further from us and although we would have loved to see them, we understood these are wild animals, unpredictable and therefore a danger to the general, and sometimes unthinking, public. We understood and were perfectly content with what was offered. Go knowing that you will not be endangering yourself or the animals on this tour and enjoy the educational value of seeing truly pre-historic animals that roamed with the mammoths.

“Not so great and can give it a PASS”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2013

I was so excited about the research station but it turned out to be a great disappointment. We only see the 5 musk ox and 2 caribou. That is all. I was expecting more but was terribly disappointed.
DON'T GO unless you want to donate USD10 to fund the project. Not worth the trip.

not worth the price of admission for "tour". limited to one muskox near the fence. And a reindeer and caribou. We thought we would your the entire facilities. guide provided lots of facts about animals which was interesting. there are other places in town that you can see reindeer and caribou for free. bring bug spray, water, and a hat.
