Stayed 4 nights....the aurora was unbelievable and made the trip memorable.

For this B&B there were no open easily accessible shared areas...living, kitchen, etc are all in one house and our room was in one of the other 3 homes the owner has. No coffee is provided in your room! For coffee you need to get dressed....to handle the -8 weather to get to the main house for breakfast and your first cup of coffee.

No ice trays in your mini fridge nor easy access to any.

There were workers remodeling a guest room below us during our stay and their radio started pretty early one morning....after we were up till 3AM for the aurora.

The TV did not work in the room....picture O.K....sound had too much static to enjoy it.

The room was clean but small. The previous reviews mentioning the obsessive attention to guests removing their shoes is correct....this would probably be less of a problem in the summer but with winter boots and no place to sit to remove them, it becomes a problem. If you want guests to remove their shoes you need to make it easy for them.

Because we were up late for the aurora we did not go to the breakfast ...it is only served at 7:30 and 8:30???? So we got a bagged breakfast.....which consisted of a bottle of water, store bought bagel w/cream cheese, small yo-plait yogurt and 1/2 banana? The banana was black....from being in the fridge.

I have stayed in a lot of B&B's and would have expected some fresh baked items, juice and a whole fruit. No real thought or effort went into the preparation of this. Don't get the bagged breakfast...go out for breakfast!

On the plus side...the room was warm and the cleaning lady friendly and helpful. I would check out another place next time.

Thanks so much for your thoughts about our sack breakfast , I think you were correct, we should have done a better job. Please know that we will do a better job in the future with what you have suggested.

My traveling companion and I had a wonderful side trip to Fairbanks that included 2 nights at the Minnie St. B & B. The property is very well maintained. The owners are terrific and will help you connect with tour offerings and the best of the Fairbanks area. Breakfast was delicious and kept us going until late afternoon. If you're not an early riser the breakfast times may be a tad early for you. During our stay there were 2 dining options, 7:15 AM or 8:15 AM. They did offer to delay our breakfast until 9 AM. The room was comfortable with heated floors. The premium twin room had a large mirror and a hair dryer outside of the bathroom so 2 women could manage to get ready at the same time. The recliner was comfortable but took up a bit too much space for 2 women with all their luggage for a 10 day winter trip. The only thing lacking in the bathroom, in my opinion, was a robe hook. I would heartily recommend Minnie St. B & B.

We went here in February for a long weekend to see the Northern Lights, and got so lucky all round - we saw the lights every night, with some magnificent displays. Minnie St B&B was the perfect place to come back to after hours in the freezing cold at night. This place was so cozy, comfy, really well kept, clean, and the owners Marnie and Lambert are 2 awesome people. Their breakfasts were first class, you will not get the likes of those at any of your big hotels in the area. Home cooked, deliciousness. Marnie and Lambert have been in the business a long time, and were able to hook us up at short notice with someone locally to do dog-sledding on the river (excellent experience) and for other trips. Marnie also hosted a trip 2 nights for us where she drove us around some of the best Northern Lights viewing spots, complete with flasks of coffee, hot chocolate, and lovely snacks. I highly recommend this to anyone staying here with Marnie and Lambert. We saw some of the most spectacular displays late at night, when all of the other trips would have been en route back to Fairbanks and the light pollution back there. Truly amazing. You really should stay here if you're in the Fairbanks area. It's also super close to downtown so if you're like us, used to driving somewhere like California, and too chicken to take a rental in winter, you can walk anywhere from here.

My wife and I stayed here over Thanksgiving 2011-- great B&B! Very comfortable and clean rooms. Breakfast was cooked by our host fresh every day! With seceral buildings on the property, we never felt like we were living "on-top" of any other guests. The location was great, right near the Steese Hwy and Johanes Exprswy for quick access to anywhere in town. Sefinitely one of the best B&Bs we've stayed in!

This B&B was just right. I don't normally stay in B&B's but after this experience I will consider them more often. The owners operate 4 beautiful buildings just a few blocks from downtown Fairbanks. Our room had its own bathroom with shower (handheld sprayer on a hose!) and everything was perfectly clean. Breakfast was exceptional and the environment was friendly. Adjacent to our room was a large living room with a big screen TV for our use. Outside, there's a fenced parking lot for the B&B guests.
For sure I'll stay here again next time I visit Fairbanks.

Room Tip: The B&B has a variety of room types, so just ask for what you need. My son & I had a room w...

This was a most wonderful find. I think it was its name that first attracted me on the internet. We were not disappointed. The lovely gardens, comfortable room with all mod cons and peace and quiet. A great home cooked family type breakfast. Within a very easy 10 minutes walk of downtown and good restaurants, ( However, if you want a post office, make sure you go Monday to Friday! That's Fairbanks fault not Lambert and Marnie's)
The owners are friendly and helpful in every way

Room Tip: Just say what you wantand leave it to Lambert & Marnie

This was a welcome change from the cookie cutter hotels. Very friendly and welcoming - nice sized room, but the owner was a stickler for removal of shoes. Fair enough, he wanted to keep his house looking nice, and this was the difference, it was a house and not a hotel. This was re-inforced, with a 'family' style breakfast with other guests around the table - good to meet and hear other travellers tales.

Very helpful - told where to go in Fairbanks, where to eat and advised on what excursions might be of interest. This place, though not strictly in the centre, was only 10 mins walk away from the middle of town, so no problem. Would I stay again? - certainly.

Room Tip: All good- we were in the annexe
