Owner description: Opened in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge provides passage between Brooklyn and Manhattan for motorists, trains, bicycles and pedestrians. One of the primary symbols of New York City, it is a marvel of design and provides spectacular views of the city's skyline.

This is my favorite bridge of NYC. It has great views from the bridge and the bridge itself is great to view from other locations. It is a good walk but worth it or you can ride a bike on the bridge. Just a wonderful piece of work created by man!

As a former Brooklynite, I always enjoy walking the bridge especially with people from out of town. I usually start off in Manhattan. (take the # 4 0 Green Line to Brooklyn Bridge subway stop.)
It's crowded but walkable. be careful of the bicycles. When you get close to the Brooklyn side, there are two ways off the bridge. I recommend the side on the left. At the bottom, go left and then another left. You will be walking towards Brooklyn Bridge Park and towards some restaurants. Grimaldis is great but crowded and you have to wait on a long line. I also recommend Juliana's next door. Afterwards, walk towards Brooklyn Bridge Park and eventually get to the foot bridge, The kids will love it and adults too. When you get off the foot bridge, follow the steps to the street (Columbia Heights). Take a right and now you are in beautiful Brooklyn Heights. If you stay right, you will end up on the Promenade for the most beautiful views of Manhattan. Take the promenade to the end and turn up Montague Street. There are a number of shops to eat and this is a residential community. Check out the brownstones on the side streets. To get back to Manhattan, you can walk the bridge again or take the subway on Court Street towards Manhattan. In two stops, you are at Wall Street. It's not a visit to NYC without walking over the Brooklyn Bridge! Enjoy!

This is a must-do attraction in NYC. If you don't walk return, take East River Ferry to Brooklyn side and walk to Manhattan. Beware of cyclist that drive fast.

There is nothing to dislike, just do it. Yes we had a little rain during our evening walk and we couldn't find where to start but hey who cares?
