This is one of the most classic American experiences that you could have in New York City! Only Nathan´s can truly give you the feeling of the real “old time” fast food experience, which is, obviously, marvelous and unforgettable dishes combined with a warm atmosphere and low prices. The fries and the lemonade are remarkable.

Maybe it's the rebuilding after Super Storm Sandy, but the 'new' Nathan's is not the 'old' Nathan's.

We brought our two grandsons -- and my daughter, their mother -- to Nathan's on Veteran's Day. It's now like any other big fast food place full of stainless steel and ceramic tiles.

I touted the fried soft shell crab sandwiches. They used to be worth dreaming about, no less eating. We ordered five of them, one each. In years gone by they used to be big soft crabs that hung out from the bun. Now they're tiny, buried in the bun and invisible unless one takes the top off the bun to see what's in there. When you sink your teeth into it you taste bun, not crab.

The French fries, one of Nathan's signature dishes, were soggy. Not a bit of crispness.

The hot dogs are $3.95 each. Good, but not well enough cooked. But $3.95 for a hot dog? Simply exorbitant.

A trip to Nathan's may still be worth the trip if you've never been to Coney Island, but it's no longer a destination restaurant.

I already knew we had to visit the famous hotdog place on coney island. I wasn't sure what it was called but couldn't miss it a we walked out. Although it was out of season and most things were shut there were people in and out of here the whole time. I had a classic dog, cheesy fires and a medium pop which is bigger then any large drink in the UK!
I really enjoyed it and is a must for anyone who visits.

Upon visiting the landmark of Coney island, we held out from eating to go here. Both of us ordered the lobster roll from the multi choice menu. We were not disappointed with our fill. Tasty lobster with a coleslaw type filling. The bread- sesame, toasted. This complimented the lobster.
Washed down with a coke. Both of us to eat? 16 bucks. Worth every penny
