“Good Pre-BAM Tapas Spot; But No Air and it is Loud.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2013

Went to Stone Home Bar before attending a movie at BAM on a Friday. We were asked if we had a reservation, which we did not, but were given a table for two (the place was getting packed at around 7p) nonetheless. The bar had no air and was really stuffy, especially with more people arriving. It was very loud, although the music was barely heard. It seemed like there was only one server for the whole bar, so we had to wait for menus and then to order for a short while. But that was expected. The atmo at the bar was quite cozy, not a big place (so the tables are close to each other) but not uncomfortable. The selection of wine by the glass / bottle was good (ended up with a bottle of Cab Sav. $38?). The menu is not extensive but has a nice variety of cheeses (choice of 3 hard / soft for $12; includes Blue, Manchester, etc.) and meats (choice of 3 Charcuterie for $12; includes chorizo, smoked duck breast, etc.) and some traditional appetizers (like olives - $5) and dishes (like pasta - $13-15). The special was the avocado / lobster tartar ($14) I think. So, we ordered the special, and a cheese / meat platter (you can mix meat and cheeses for a total of 3 for $12). In total, we had a bottle of wine and 2 appz, which ran us around $85. I would not recommend this bar for dinner or a special occasion but for a quick pre-BAM bite it is not bad.

“Great Pre-Show or Game restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2013

Only a few blocks from the Barclays Center, we found this small wine bar. We were starving, so we wanted dinner, and we were so pleasantly surprised. While the menu is definitely geared towards wine, cheese and small plates, we had a beautiful fish dinner. The kale salad and grilled octopus were fantastic appetizers, and we were too full for dessert. Our server was wonderful, and we will definietly return before our next event at Barclays Center.

“Trendy and tasty Fort Greene wine bar respite”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2013 via mobile

Slip down the stairs to a wonderfully intimate wine and foodie experience. Strong selection of wine and spirits with knowledgeable wait staff. Great ambience, even when full. Wait staff varied from very good to excellent. Try the duck breast charcuterie. The 9 ounce tasting flights offer plenty of refreshment as one experiences new wines.

“Lovely wine bar close to BAM.”

Intimate, cute little patio out back when the weather is nice, and very convenient to BAM. Food is very good; mostly small plates. Wonderful selection of wines, and knowledgeable staff to help you make your selection.

“Go for the wine and the hush puppies”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2013

Good wine list, but the food seems to be a second thought. But what more do you need than a good glass of wine with some hush puppies. Advantage: Close to BAM!
