This hotel is not the most convenient but i think the point is to get away from the city! We got this room on priceline for a steal...it was worth the deal we got but the reviews can be a bit much....i would say its a great hotel but not the best and certainly wouldnt tell anyone to pay full price. It's a great option for last minute travel though and the rooftop bar is pretty cool! Dont share a room with your mother in law because you can see through the shower and stall...that's all i can say!lol

We just spent one night because our son was moving to Park Slope in Brooklyn and this was a good location for us. Parking is available which is a plus. The accommodations were very modern and with a nice room layout as well as decor-blue, of course. The room comes with a continental breakfast which you select the night before and it is delivered to your room at the time you selected. We had a wonderful fresh basket of croissants and pastries -coffee set up and service was in the room. It would have been nice to have an additional chair to sit on to have breakfast in our room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rate was reasonable for the city and location.

We spent the weekend at Le Bleu this past week for a holiday party in Brooklyn. There really was not much of a choice in hotels in the city, besides the Marriotts etc., so we tried this since our other choice, Nu hotel was booked.

Parking was a nice touch, we found a spot, but took the last one, so wonder how the next guest made out. The lobby reminded me of a European hotel with bright blue lights and a very tight space. Check in was a bit slow, but eventually we got to out room, a Manhattan view king with terrace. I have to say, after witnessing the lobby, i was expecting the worse, but was pleasantly surprised. The room had small foyer, and although tight, there was enough room to store our luggage and still comfortably move around, which is not always the case with NY hotels. The next morning, we noticed we could also say the statue of Liberty in the distance, which was pretty cool!

The room was clean, with crisp linens. As others have mentioned, the comp. water and chips were a nice touch. Here is where it gets weird- nearly all the lighting in the room was blue, which is cool if you just want to lay around, watch TV, but for someone trying to get ready when its pitch dark out, and blue in the room, not exactly the best make up application environment. Also, the bathroom is super weird- the shower is cool, huge and open glass, but with a curtain you can draw around it if you are being modest. Which beats the other part of the bathroom, or rather lack thereof. The sink was literally next to the left bedside table and completely open. The toilet was literally one step behind the sink with a flimsy sliding door. I so wish the architect had thought thru adding some kind of barrier as it really did not make the room inviting with water from the sink literally splashing onto the bed.

Breakfast in the morning was ok- just what was promised, a box with a few bagels and cream cheese, but enuf to get the day started. They do not deliver pre-made coffee, you have to brew you own.

So overall, not knowing what other hotels are like in Brooklyn, I am not really sure what to compare it to, but it is not a 4 star if compared to NYC hotels.

Welcoming, modern and clean rooms (especially ones with terrace facing nyc landscape). Great welcome package (free bottled water and chips), well stocked and reasonably priced mini-bar.

Location is a 5 minute walk to sub-way, not a lot in the immediate area but great bars and restuarants in easy reach.

Paper thin walls, poor noise insullation. Be warned.

Room Tip: upgrade the room to NYC view.

We've previously recommended this hotel, but no more. In 3 out of 4 stays we have been awakened in the middle of the night by the fire alarm. To make matters worse, the front desk does not call or answer the phone to tell guests no need to evacuate. They also gave us a room in which the shower drenched the entire bathroom in standing water.

I had booked a night in Hotel Le Bleu but when I finally arrived there after a long flight from Amsterdam they informed me that they were overbooked and did not have a room available. Why? They had guests who did not want to leave the rooms and stayed longer in the hotel than planned! I was not the only one who was redirected to another hotel. It was only 10 minutes away and a simular, brandnew hotel. The hotel was the Best Western Arena. Indeed new, but with an ugly style like all Best Westerns. I did not like the neigbourhood, although it was not bad, and with a lot of noise from the metro which was 10 meters away.

Hotel Le Bleu looks like a very modern, trendy and stylish place, and also describes itseld like that on the website, but the manager claims that it is simular to a Best Western. What a joke!
And the management is not able to manage their reservations. I was not the only one who was overbooked. Very unprofessional and absolutely unacceptable.
