“Outstanding value for the money - great service”
Reviewed 2 July 2012

Decided to stay here for the first 5 nights of our vacation this summer.

First the cons (the few there are):
Location is a bit akward between the u-haul lot, the taxi driver garage and the Pepboy repair shop. View from the lower room balconies isn't great.

This was it - the rest is as good as you will get anywhere in Manhattan, probably much better and much cheaper!

Value for money is outstanding - room are spacious, breakfast is simple, but delivered on time, and will get you into your day without having to find a diner.

It's a 2 block walk to 5th Ave where you will find all kinds of eateries and bars. It also a 2 block walk to the Subway (F and R-train) which will take you to Manhattan easily and cheaply.

Good beds and amneties, large TV with a very good channel selection. Free Wifi. Business center with computer and printer.

BUT the best is the staff at the hotel. All extremely friendly, down to earth and very, very service minded. They will make sure that you have everything you need. Highly impressive!

I would like to mention Roberto and Josh especially - coming home from a very long, very hot day - they realized we were in dire need of cold drinks - before we managed to press the button for the elevator we were supplied with cold bottled water.

Thank you guys for making our stay such a good experience! Good job!

Room Tip: If you can get a room high up with view to Manhattan, if you can't get such a room, take any and...

So, once you get over the realization that it’s Fouth Avenue Brooklyn and not Fourth Avenue Manhattan (Park Avenue at Central Park ! ), get ready for a surprisingly wonderful and affordable NYC hotel experience. This hotel is located on a busy but safe street just on the edge of Park Slope with all the great sights, sounds, and tastes that neighborhood has to offer. We arrived from Massachusetts late in the evening the day after our first grandchild was born. The hotel was easy to find and we pulled right into the secure, complimentary parking (a God-send in NYC!). We were greeted at the door as though we had been guests 100 times. Audrey was at the desk. Check-in was a breeze, she anticipated all our questions, and offered a handful of great suggestions to make our brief visit even more enjoyable. Our room was an oasis…immaculate, with a chic/modern/stylish décor, completely in tune with the new Brooklyn. The glass and chrome bathroom , integrated into the main part of the room with frosted sliding glass doors and privacy curtains around the shower for the more modest, was unique and fun. The bed was luxurious. The towels, bed linens, and other ammenities were high quality and well-chosen. Although we had dinner plans we ventured upstairs to see the restaurant and bar. I understand that these aren’t owned by the hotel. Although we didn’t order anything at either we could tell the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The view from the bar was quite a pleasant surprise. Understanding that we didn’t eat or drink there, I thought the décor could be remodeled and refreshed to match the vibe of the overall hotel--- sharper sight lines, more energetic application of vivid blues , and more modern use of crisper LCD lighting. In the morning the complimentary continental breakfast was on time, beautifully presented, and delicious. Great service, sharp style, immaculate, and priced right....this hotel has to be one of the best values in Brooklyn if not in all of NYC. The staff are extremely competent and friendly. We will definitely return each and every time we visit our new granddaughter in Brooklyn.

This is an extremely comfotable, cool hotel with free wi-fi, free breakfast, in-room refrigerators & snacks, and very comfy beds. The location is great, with easy access to all Brooklyn activities, a quick ride into Manhattan, and a block away from a small park & farmer's market on the weekend. The best part of staying here, though, is the staff, who is willing to do anything to make your stay the best it can be. One front desk person (Jonathan) offered to go to the store to get a first aid item I needed, while another helped search for a hotel room in the sold-out city I was going to next. That person (Audrey) went out of her way in so many ways that I could not list them all here. This was our first time staying in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan; we have stayed in numerous Manhattan hotels over the years and have never encountered customer service even close to this level. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a small balcony, which is nice.

Great place to stay in Park Slope. The rooms are very clean, nice bathrooms, staff is great (especially Greg Spencer the assistant general manager).

Room Tip: Manhattan view rooms are quieter.

The manager of this hotel hasn't a clue!! The first night we noticed that there was black mold in our room (401) to which he said, "it's only two inches of mold." The following night our room (701) was so hot we couldn't sleep. When we told him about it the following morning, he said, "I can't imagine that could be true, that room is always occupied." We had the air conditioner set to 64 degrees and the room thermostat which was next to the unit read "77." What part of this is hard to imagine? We called the front desk and requested that he come to our room to feel how uncomfortable the room temperature was. He was not interested and never showed up. What kind of GM does not want to talk with a guest about a problem face to face?

On a positive note, the beds and bedding were very nice as was the rest of the staff.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere. Local resident suggested we look for short term apartment rentals, often available...

We stayed in this hotel during our visit to New York in May and it was perfect. The complimentary breakfast is delicious, the room was beautiful and the people working there were very nice! The only thing is that we could hear our neighbour talking in the hallway in the middle of the night.
The restaurant was okay, but not more than that. Prices are a bit too high for the quality of the food.

You could not do better than to stay the night at Le Bleu before returning to the UK on the QM 2 and the value at just over £ 100 for 2 is outstanding.
The area may be a bit industrial but it is only a short distance from 5 th Avenue with a large selection of places to eat or just to buy a snack. We were on the second floor so did not get much of a view but then we were only staying one night.
We are both in our 70's and even at 89 F could manage the walk to the Sub way station and enjoyed a trip to Coney Island and Prospect Park, a place I did not expect to find in New York.
The bathroom arrangements are a bit novel for people of our age, but with the shower curtain is pulled it is quite private enough. The bed could not be bettered.
Make sure that you take a CD with you so that you can try the Bose audio system, the TV is excellent its a pity about the rubbish that the poor Americans have to put up with thank God for the BBC.
The car and driver the hotel ordered for us provided us with friendship and amusement to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and the hotel staff could not be better.
Make sure you go to the bar at the top of the buliding for a drink and to take in the view.
For all the moaning minnies ref the problem with debit cards MAKE SURE YOU TAKE A CREDIT CARD then you will not have a problem.

Well done to all those who provide the Le Bleu experience.
