“A very big hole in the ground”

Children of all ages will get a kick out of watching huge trucks go up and down the sides of this mine. There is adequate parking off the road and always something to watch. There is adequate fencing to keep people safe. This could be iffy if you suffer from vertigo.

Educational and somewhat mind boggling view of the immensity of the mining industry and its effect on the land. It is a must stop and see view.

What a beautiful spot - looking out over mounds going down into the open pit - varied colors creating a real life painting in golds, beiges, and oranges. The view point has photos and explanations about the history and the copper mining process. Very fascinating!

This mine is a testament to engineers. It is amazing to see it's immensity and they have helpfully posted interpretive signs about the history of the mine. Worth 20 minutes for a quick education.
