“Beautifully Refurbished”
Reviewed 20 June 2014 via mobile

Staying at the Belton was a great experience, especially if you're interested in its history. One can see it was lovingly and carefully restored by its owners, and is kept in immaculate condition. The grounds and common areas are beautifully landscaped and inviting. The staff was warm and helpful. Our room was charming, basic, and simple, providing everything we needed. We did not get a chance to try the restaurant, but our appetizers in the Tap Room were delicious as were the local brews on tap. I would definitely recommend this as part of the "Glacier" experience.

We reserved a room with a package deal that included dinner. I'll review the amazing restaurant under "restaurants". This place is small and welcoming. The only negative was the reservation process. When we called it took a long time and several follow up calls to confirm everything and receive an email confirmation. Then when we got there - the clerk had recorded our reservation for 0 nights. So they only had one room with a balcony left, the honeymoon suite and it was $10 more. No biggie but I would suggest you call and make your reservation during day time hours. They were all very pleasant about it and we enjoyed the honeymoon suite. It was small but that is to be expected in these old chalets. There was a nice bathroom and shower. The room had a claw foot tub too! It is right by the railroad tracks so they supply earplugs but we didn't need them. The balcony was private and had a lovely view. We sat in the lobby and played some cards in front of the fire. In the basement they serve coffee in the mornings. There is also a shuffleboard and ping pong table down there.
The gardens are beautiful.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony room.

This hotel allows you to step back in time. It dates from the early days of national park travel, when visitors came by train. Yes, you will hear the train go by at night, but that's part of the appeal. The rooms are small but clean, cute, and full of old time charm. The staff is very helpful and the restaurant is great. Best of all, it's a mile from the entrance to the national park. I would definitely return.

Go back in time...this place was awesome, most import the bed was so comfortable everything was pristine with beautiful flower gardens. As for the trains not so bad, this is an experience of what life once was with all the amenities of todays world.
Food was outstanding...Best ever Manhattans! A definite return in the fall.

Room Tip: rooms on the south side are quieter

Less than a mile to the entrance of Glacier, we stayed in the Clark Cabin. Fully loaded, cozy but with tons of room, I could have stayed for weeks. Wonderful service at the front desk and the restaurant. Luxury that allows casual - just perfect.

I got the "Bread for Two" app, the Pork chops, and the Apple crisp for dinner...everything was outstanding! I will be going back again tomorrow! The staff were all very nice and attentive and all provided great recommendations as well as giving a history of the place.

this is a nice place and good food, what blows me away reading back into reviews is that people complain about train noises. get real, this is part of the deal, trains a few hundred feet away is part of the bargain and reason to be there. I find it great to hear the moan of a train at any hour. suggestion, get a tent and walk back 10 miles into the forest and sleep so you don't hear trains then or why even bother coming. its not like its hidden, its in front of you and you know it.
