We wanted to get away into the wilderness and this was the place to go. We were very well taken care of with every need met. All of our excursions were fantastic. The food was so fresh and fantastic from salmon to Dungeness crab. I wish we had stayed longer.

From the moment you step foot on the property, your every need is taken care of. The staff is attentive, warm and go out of their way to make you feel welcome- you feel like you are staying with family. The Inn is a lovely log cabin set among fields with endless views. Peaceful and serene. The rooms are large, food is top notch and fresh. The owner Janie takes pride in her inn and her customers' experience. And to top it off, they have a mascot Bandit who is the sweetest dog. He accompanied us on a hike and lead the way. We wished we could have taken him home.

Highly recommend Gracier Bay's Bear Track Inn and hope to come back to visit again soon!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the front side of the Inn.

We just got back from our wonderful stay at the Bear Track Inn. The staff was attentive and the room was large with a great view. We enjoyed Chef Ivan's dinners with the menus changing each night; his enthusiasm was a treat. It is a peaceful get away, and they will arrange and transport you to whatever you want to do while in Glacier Bay. They even have the gear and clothes you might need. Fishing was great with Captain Jim. Thanks Janey and crew for making it all happen!

Glacier Bay's Bear Track Inn exceeded our expectations. While planning for our 15 year anniversary trip to Alaska, we went back and forth between a cruise and the Bear Track Inn. Boy, did we make the right choice to really experience Alaska. The Inn seamlessly took care of our excursions and transportation daily and fed us like a 5 Star restaurant from our made to order breakfast to our packed lunches to take along with us and delicious dinners. And, who could forget coffee and cookies and appetizers in the afternoon! We would highly recommend the Bear Track Inn....book there and you will not regret it!

Having done Alaska by Cruise Ship before, we planned a 10 day trip on our own and this was the first lodge in our itinerary! Every morning, a scrumptious breakfast was waiting, and our lunches were packed for our excursions. The small cruise boat to the Glaciers took us up much closer than the big ship did. Our halibut fishing trip couldn't be better since we both caught enough fish to last us the Winter, and we had a friendly whale following us the entire day! The lodge even provided boots and rain gear. Before flying off to Skagway, we golfed the local course (again complete with a packed lunch from the lodge) and had a fun and relaxing day on a most unusual and funky golf course with breathtaking vistas of the surrounding snow capped mountains. Our driver from the lodge stopped to allow us pictures of 3 moose on our way back. Dinner menus and the wine were exceptional, and if you like peace and quiet (no tv's in the rooms) this is your place to stay! Private, quiet, attentive and lodge luxurious sums it up!

One of the best travel experiences we've ever had. Stayed five days in June 2013. This is luxury accomodation verging on 5-stars yet in Alaska maritime wilderness. Nothing else quite this. Beyond the outstanding lodging and cusine excellent assistance was provided planning and arranging for different outoor activity each day. A fisherman's paradise, but plenty of other experiences were available including guided nature hiking, guided kayaking, whate waching cruises,, glacier watching in small plane with excursion to Skagway and spectacular train; and the highlight deep cruise into Glacier Bay. Per day this is expensive but the total cost is no greater than a luxury cruise trip and this is a better experience, really connecting with the land of Alaska and its people. Also enjoyed meeting fellow guests from all over the world in the spectacular lodge maintained in like new condition. The dedicate owner/hostess Jane is headed into retirement. I hope a new owner/operator will emerge to continue to maintain and operate this first class National Treasure.

We were at The Bear Track in August, 2013. We made our reservations almost a year in advance. It was a beautiful place and we were there for four days. The service was fantastic and they really cater to their guests. I have Celiac disease and the chef James was a jewel for how he accommodated my special needs. Every evening the owner would visit with us at our dinner table and either confirm or arrange activity for the next day. You can do as much or as little as suits you. We took The Park Service tour into Glacier Bay National Park. We went whale watching and took a small boat to Elfin Cove. We did not go on the bear watch or fishing but other guests that did we're very satisfied. We were in Alaska for several months so had already experienced several of the activities that The Inn offered. Janie went out of her way to help us with accommodations in Juno and had several recommendations for places to eat and things to do there. She took care of our transportation to and from Gustavus. She knows the entire area like the back of her hand and is willing to help you enjoy your trip outside of Gustavus. We had a wonderful time and would go back again. Some of the reviews have said The Inn was pricey, which it is, but if you consider ALL of Alaska is pricey, it was not over the top. The food and accommodations are top notch for such a rustic area.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor on the back side. Our view included a place frequented by bear but we...
