“We were here last year and decided to make comeback...”
Reviewed 1 June 2012

One should think that the manager had read my last review, becuase this time the attendants in the breakfastrrom was hospitable and even gave away smiles. This also happened to most employees in the ciorridors. A greeating make you feel welcome.

The hotel is a 2-3 story structure where some rooms have a balcony towards the Grand Canyon or Lake Powell. It is lovely to sit on the balcony in the warm evening and soak up beautiful Arizona. You are private to the extent that cellphones from neighbors disturb you. To sit here with a bottle of something and cheese, - is blissful and truly enjoyable. The 85F+ helps of course for someone from a city where the temperature just now is below 45F-.

The hotel is not the most beautiful of the 3 Navajo run hotels in the Choice chain, but it is the most well managed. Tuba City has my favorite exterior- and interior wise, but the employees in Tuba City and Window Rock needs to attend an attitude managecourse., or they should be put to work at the many road stalls for Navajo souvenirs. You will not sell an ice cream in 100F+ again and again unless you give the customer a smile from time to time. The employees at Page seems much more at ease and welcoming this year than at our last visit.

There were two small blemishes if I may? The phone in our room #181 was clearly marked room #187 and the fixtures for the shower curtain were not in line with the tiles. Unless you are seriously “under the weather”, - you may easily cope with these shortcomings. I used to work in hotels before my studies in finance. Attention to detail applies everywhere in life. WI-fi ceased to work as the hotel filled up for the evening, both on my laptop and on my droid. After 8 o'clock in the morning people wake up and the bandwidth dies again.

In the evening the hotel decided decided to grill steak for the guests. This is in stark contrast to the grilled steaks at Quality in Tuba City. Those “steaks” looked like- and tasted like hamburgers, - see my review from May 2012!. If you want to feel cheated by the restaurant, - you should choose Quality Tuba City and not Quality Page.

There is even wildlife in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The “dragon-like” creature tried to impress me with it’s size by moving up and down on its legs, but scuttled into the bush when I showed him my beer-belly.

While the guests to the city of Page are Caucasians in general, the local population generates a large part of the breakfast guests. I have never had my breakfast in the Navajo hotels without the security of Law Enforcement at my side.

All considered, we truly enjoyed our stay again. I can be negative in my reviews, but when I am not, it it is that much better than those “I hang out to dry”. In real estate it is location, location and location that counts. In the hotel business all building blocks need to work together. One employee out of line, and you're out of consideration for the Choice award for 2013! Quality Page may be on its way there? The CEO and TV star in “Undercover Boss” should definitely make a visit for the award 2013.

Room Tip: Youmay choose room 181. We had an "elefant" above us and a "Rhino" next door, b...

Positives:
- nice room overlooking the river area - nice balcony to watch the sunset.
- very nice breakfast with some hot items.
- room was an okay size; it did have a refrigerator and microwave.
- cookies were served at night
- within walking distance to several restaurants
- close to Lake Powell (but then again, everything in Page is close).

Negatives:
- older and needs some updating
- no elevator - three stories.
- water problems...toilet had very little pressure. When taking a shower at night (8:00 pm), there was only luke-warm water (bordering no warm). Thinking about taking a shower in the morning to get going...we were dreading it...but surprisingly, it was plenty hot at 6:00 am!
- pool was being filled. How in May on a nearly 100 degree day was the pool not operational?!

This hotel was chosen for us by our tour company, so we had no idea of what to expect. it was clean and adequate. It needs some updating, but it was okay. We did have one concern....there seems to have been a leak during the night and when we awoke the entire area in front of the sink, etc. was soaking wet from the water out in the hallway. I wish that the hotel staff had notified us duirng the night....We were lucky that we didn't turn on a light switch on our way to the bathroom or we would have been shocked. A phone call or a warning would have been nice. There is a small restaurant on-site and it was nice complimentary breakfast. The hotel is owned and run by members of the Navajo nation. Staff was very friendly and nice....it was just that one incident that could have been better.

Room Tip: Do not get one of the "basement" rooms and ask for a room from which you can watch the sun...

This hotel is old and really needs a make-over. The hallways are dark and not so clean. The room was spacious and the beds were allright. The room had a patio which had a great view over Lake Powell. The bathroom smelled a bit and could use some good cleaning. The breakfast was in the restaurant and was good with lots of choices in comparison to other Quality and Comfort Inn's.

We booked a room at this Hotel based on the reviews on the internet. We were very satisfied with every thing they offered. We had a standard king room that has plenty of space, relative big balkony with lots of sun shine. The room was clean, the hotel staff were nice and helpful. And we liked also the location. After our trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon, we decided to stay again at this hotel. And we got a much bigger and very nice room, we payed a little more, but we very very happy again. We enjoyed very much sitting on the balkony that had a very nice view overlooking the Glen Canyon dam and the Lake Powell. If we travel back to this place, we definitelly will stay here again.

We booked a weekend stay here on short notice after being unable to get into a couple other places. The property is old and it shows, however the room was clean and the queen beds comfortable enough for a decent night's sleep. The complementary breakfast was so-so: a lot of variety, but some of the hot food was barely edible. Rooms are large and come equipped with microwave and a good-size refrigerator.

Best part of the stay was the balcony off the room with a view over a local golf course, all the way out to Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell behind it. A set of wrought iron furniture outside was a very pleasant place to sit and relax with the beautiful scenery.

Again, this wasn't our first choice, but there is nothing to fear from staying here. Room rates were at a premium, but comparable to other lodging in Page. The place seemed jammed with tour groups, so I guess it's whatever the market will bear.

Room Tip: Request a room on the lake view side.

The title says it all. Staff were friendly and helpful for information. The room seemed to have all the furnishings from 30-40 years ago. There were 2 ice machines, one of which didn't work. The breakfast was decent, quite a few choices.
