An amazing fourth year here. We decided to stay in a two-story Lodge Unit this year, as we had a group of five of us. We were very pleased with the roominess of these units. The cabins are awesome, but we wanted to try something different in a two-floor arrangement this year with two teenagers and a pre-schooler. As always, immaculate upon our arrival. Beautiful modern kitchen, new appliances, shiny glasses and plenty of cookware. Three bedroom, two full bathrooms, upstairs deck and downstairs deck. There are four lodge units together, but we never were bothered by any noise from the other units, but this resort is a place many people come to because of the quiet and peacefulness of it all. The view was out of this world from our unit. The deck was perfect for having that glass of Gunflint Red Wine in the evenings after a day of playing in the kayaks and canoes in the water. There is a wooded path that guides you downhill to your own dock. A short stroll in the opposite direction brings you to a sandy beach for swimming and sandcastles.
The children enjoyed being in close proximity to the main lodge (down the hall) to quickly join in the daily naturalist activities. You can plan a full day here or a lazy day. A day on the water, or a day reading or participating in the relaxing daily activities for children and adults alike. You can make it what you want in this serene environment.
I think I said this in a previous review of this resort, but to me this location is a "feeling", it's emotional...I don't think it would ever matter which unit or cabin you stay in, you will always "feel" this special place in your heart. It's a "must stay".
