This is the epitome of a glorious north woods lodge. The building's heritage is fantastic, and the original owner's granddaughter bakes the bread made in the 1920s. An awesome stay and we will return!

Thank you to the awesome Lodge owners and staff! We stayed in one of the 8 cabins, and LOVED our accommodations. Nicely updated by the new owners and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the delectable bakery goods and thought the amenities of the Lodge were great. We liked visiting with Adam and Kasey and learned about the history of their lodge. We appreciated the tips on our BWCA day trips and hikes. The equipment was in A+ shape and the staff offered superior service in transport to entry points. Super vistas over Clearwater Lake. We'd love to come again! Thanks for making us feel so welcome!

Thank you, Adam, Kasey, Erik and team! Our group stayed one night at the wonderful and historic Clearwater Lodge on the Gunflint Trail before leaving on our canoe trip. We enjoyed a great night's sleep in the lodge rooms and then a delicious breakfast to ready us for the trail. We appreciated the team's knowledge and expertise for insights about our trip. This lodge and outfitter services are in wonderful hands. We will be back!

This is the most unique and spectacular lodge/outfitter we have ever used. We used the outfitting service for a 5 day/4 night trip into the BWCA. We only booked the food and kevlar canoe and both were fantastic. We did see some of the full outfitting gear they used and it looked to be top notch as well.

The lodge itself combines both a historic old lodge with the necessary comforts of home. I am a returning customer from 18 years ago and the new owners have made some amazing improvements while maintaining the history of the lodge. Nice new bathroom for the rooms that share a bathroom. Also, we stayed in Suite B which also had a nice upgraded bathroom. The breakfast that is offered was wonderful and we looked forward to it the two mornings we were there. We will be coming back again soon and highly recommend it to our friends and family. We will probably use the lodge as a base for some day trips next time we return.

Room Tip: We loved Suite B and if you have multiple people in your party look into Suite A. It looked very nic...

We regularly use Clearwater as our launching point into the BWCA. They can take care of whatever you need, whether it's just a bunk and a place to get your permit, or more outfitting needs. Great property with great service. We will be back for sure.

Room Tip: bunkhouses are pretty rustic. If you're looking for privacy or a place to relax choose a cabin...

Take it from a repeat customer - this place is worth returning to every year. We just finished our 10th visit to Clearwater Lodge and one of the most important things we did was get our reservation for next year. We never tire of the cabin, the lake, the fishing and boating, and the fun. Adam and Kasey take good care of us. The only surprise is what improvements they've made to the facilities since the last year. We'll be back next year.

This place is perfect in every way! They accommodated us with hospitality and warmth and attended every need as if we were family. It is the perfect place to paddle into the BWCA and the convenience of having an outfitter right there made it easy to wake up and hit the lakes. The cabins were immaculate, well stocked, and the beds were unbelievable. I have never slept so well in a bed other than my own. The grounds were well kept up and the lodge is a great place for families to gather. It was also nice that we were able to have breakfast made for us one morning, right in the lodge. I would recommend this place to anyone. Where else can you wake up, sit up from your bed and look right out on one of the most spectacular BWCA views you will ever see?
