We visit Grand Marais every summer for the fireworks and have been unimpressed with the food so far. We stopped in here for a lunch expecting traditional American fare. What a surprise! The food was inventive and absolutely amazing (we had chipolte pepper fries with blue cheese - an unlikely pairing, but the combination tempered the fiery chipolte while adding a cool zing to the appetizer), the atmosphere was cozy and inviting (a renovated post office on main street), and the service was warm and personal (we were sopping wet from being caught in a sudden rainstorm and they brought us towels to dry off!). We will make this our main restaurant during our visits.
