“Great spot up north”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

This is the second time we have been to the Crooked Spoon. It's become one of our must go to places when we are on the north shore. The service is friendly and timely (not too fast, not too slow). The ambience is great, even when it is crowded which it usually is. The Amish chicken is great as is the pasta.

“Crooked Spoon serves Wicked Lunch -- but not cheap!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

We stopped for lunch at the Crooked Spoon and tried the herring sandwich and turkey sandwich. The bread was very fresh and tasty, the fish was fine but herring. The turkey was good. The service was attentive. The cream of chicken soup with Kale was tasty. They had a selection of local beers on tap. Overall a good meal but you pay for the privilege.

“Foodie delight up north”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

This place was an awesome surprise. The food is creative and delicious. It's a bit pricey for the area but totally worth it. French onion soup is terrific. I Loved my huge bib salad with tomatoes three ways. Mussels are great. My husbands steak wasn't his fav though. There is a big beer selection with lots of local choices.

“The Scoop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

Small and quaint and a perfect fit for the town of Grand Marais. Excellent food and very good service. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the bottle of wine delightful. For dessert, splurged and had a piece of freshly baked blueberry pie, ala mode, of course. Tasty, a real treat.

“Ignored”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

We tried to eat here for lunch with our two young children. It was very busy. We were willing to wait (and we did). The staff continued to call others (that came in after us) for tables. We have never had that experience before. We left and went to another restaurant with much better service.
