Right off the "main drag" by a block. Close enough to walk to everything and not have to worry about the parking nightmare that is Gatlinburg, but far enough away to not have to hear the hustle & bustle. Great contiental breakfast. Lots of brochures in the lobby area for local attractions. Balconies are RIGHT over top of the river. Gorgeous to see and hear. Room was clean & neat. Loved that it had a little refrigerator and microwave. Decor was rustic but true to the rest of the room design. Nice gas fireplace too. Great staff! Great price!

Our family just stayed nine nights at the lodge. Could not have been more pleased. Since we were last there, the WI-FI has been updated and we able to easily get on the internet from the third floor. In particular, I would like to thank Tracy for her hospitality. She always make us feel welcome.

We only live two hours away, in Asheville, NC, but we wanted to get away for a day or so. I booked this from the Tripadvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. The room was clean, the furniture comfortable and in a cabin style, and the balcony private. It was quiet, and it was the get away we needed. This will be our place of choice from now on.

A block from the main road, so you can walk everywhere. Cannot think of anything negative to say. It was wonderful.

I cannot comment on the breakfast, as we slept through it.

If Gatlinburg were carpet bombed I have no idea where a person would then have to go to buy water bongs, Chinese stars, ostrich jerky, and old timey photos in a single afternoon's outing. It would honestly be a real challenge to find a worse place to take your kids on vacation than this disaster. It's the sort of town that makes you want to throw in the towel. But don't, for five feet from the Gatlinburg city limits lies GSMNP, a place that nourishes the soul that Gatlinburg exists to destroy. And when one must be in Gatlinburg, one should consider a stay at The Old Creek Lodge. As with most properties in GB, the web photos are misleading as hell. What appears to be a lodge nestled into the forest is actually a motel with a log facade and a cool sign out front. What is described as a jacuzzi tub for two is a far less intimate bathtub weirdly situated in the bedroom. That said, the place was clean, the a/c was frigid, and the bathtub was actually a nice vantage point from which to view the Tv. The hotel is a few blocks off the main drag and minutes to the park entrance. Gatlinburg appears to get cheesier the farther you get away from the park so this is a great location if you seek to avoid said cheese. If cheese is your bag, may I recommend a visit to "Cooter 's Garage " a shrine to one of the bit characters from the Dukes of Hazzard. But I digress. The hotel has a decent breakfast complete with my favorite hotel innovation of the last decade...the two minute waffle maker. The only real downside to the hotel was that some of the staff seemed less than thrilled to interact with guests but while they weren't always cheery, they were efficient. The pool was decent and the parking was free and secure. If Gatlinburg is in your future don't hesitate to give this place a go.
