“A wonderful stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2011

We have made many many trips to Gatlinburg and this will be our hotel of choice from now on. The main reason is the service and friendly employees.
Rooms are clean, comfortable beds, not the best I have had but still very good. We have stayed in many of the hotels in that area (Stoplight 8, 9 or 10) and we usually don't eat the free breakfasts because it is so bad or not stocked well. There was a gentleman running this every morning and he did a fantastic job.
If I have any complaint it would be the pillows. They are very little and not the best, but next year I will just bring my own.
The location is great, and even though construction is going on, we had no problems with it.
Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: We prefer the creek view rooms

A last minute phone call due to our cabin check-in being delayed was received in a polite manner by the desk. The stay was for one night, a Sunday evening in the 3rd week of October, and I was glad to hear that two rooms were available, one of which was creekside, and this was the one we chose.
Check in was done quickly and efficiently, with the offer of coupons for local (walking distance), eating establishments. The room was satisfactory, although smallish. King size bed was up to the Hampton standards. Nice fireplace. Enjoyed relaxing on the outside balcony.
While the construction can hinder walking directly across the street from the hotel, it was of little difficulty that we walked 20ft to the nearest crosswalk between some barriers. We had no problems entering or exiting the hotel by automobile. A little courtesy from those involved during high traffic volume goes a long way.
I thought the complimentary breakfast was fine. I see no difference in what was offered and what is usually presented at other Hamptons. I noticed that they have added an additional CPU station in the lobby. We made use of the free WiFi in the room. Easily connected with good speed.
We've stayed in this Hampton on multiple occasions, and have never found the service, nor the accommodations lacking. It's location near the best restaurants, easy access to the National Park, creek side balconies, and the superior comfort of the beds will continue to bring us back. The promise of renovations can only enhance the hotel's appeal.

Room Tip: Choose a Creek Side Room.

We spent three nights at the Hampton Inn Gatlinburg in Septmember.

I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay right on the Parkway in Gatlinburg. It is very convenient to everything, and the trolley has a stop right accross the street.

As in all Hampton Inn's, the bed was SO comfortable!

Parking is a bit tight, but you can't complain much, since you have free parking in Gatlinburg!

The only thing that was a little dissapointing, was the complimentary breakfast. I have had much better ones at other Hampton Inns.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony overlooking the creek.

The hotel is situated right at the entrance to Gatlinburg, a bit set back from the main street, but in perfect walking distance to all the restaurants and attractions.
Great Smokey Mountain National Park is just a couple of minutes away. Pigeon Forge with all its attractions and Sevierville with its great outlet mall are about 15 minutes away. The breakfast buffet is very nice, but the breakfast room can become a little crowded during 'rush-hour'.
The room was clean, nicely furnished and very quite. WiFi had some fluctuations.
Would definitely stay there again.

The road drilling started promptly at 7:00 a.m. and stopped at 3:30 p.m. in late August when we stayed. It was difficult walking around the construction and had to step out into the street several times while touring the town. The room interior was very clean, but had seen much better days. The manager told us that the hotel was scheduled for a total redo next year. The hotel was very close to entertainment and food. If you pay extra for the "creek side," be prepared to look at the backside of another hotel/business when the leaves fall. Stay in the back side of the hotel, away from the street for the most peace and quiet. The room was on the small side and the bathroom was tiny and had poor lighting. Would probably not go back to this particular Hampton unless it is redone and the construction is finished.

Room Tip: The rooms in the back will be quieter and the creekside view will not be very nice once the leaves f...

Thank you for taking the time to review our property on TripAdvisor. Our hotel is currently under a renovation. We started with the pool (which we hope you enjoyed) and will continue updating all areas of the property and guest rooms. Part of this renovation will be replacing our existing furniture and adding microwaves and refrigerators to the rooms. Our anticipated completion date is early 2012.
The city is almost complete with their construction of burying the power lines and widening the bridge near the hotel as well which will be very pleasant once it is complete.
I do hope you will stay with us again the next time you visit Gatlinburg.
Thank you,

Husband and I stayed three nights beginning Sept 25th. Nice homey lobby with fireplace and seating area. Friendly staff greeted us and we were quickly checked in. The entire staff was friendly throughout our stay.

This is an older style Hampton, but well maintained. The room was small and pretty basic. (It did have a coffee maker). It was a little small with older style furniture, and had two beds, a wardrobe (no closet), and a small table with only one chair. Bathroom was updated with tile floor, nice vanity with several shelves for storage. Lamps in the room offered very dim lighting, but lighting over the vanity was bright. We were on the first level with a nice private balcony with two chairs & small table along the stream. Our view also included the side of the Ober Gatlinburg building and wheel mechanism for the tram, but not bad considering we were right in town.

Except for a large spiderweb above one of the beds (that I noticed on our last night), the room was clean and the bedding fresh.

We were very happy with the location of this hotel. As another poster noted, just across the street from Calhoun's, Cherokie Grill, Smokey Mountain Brewery, as well as a Best Italian and a pancake house. Bennet's BBQ also very close by. Is close to the park entrance and the visitor's center. Actually, we walked everywhere and only got in the car to go into the park.

I'm anxious to get going in the morning and appreciate hotels that offer breakfast. The buffet itself was more than adequate, with the usual fare of eggs, potatoes, sausage, muffins, waffles, fruit, cereals, etc. Unfortunately, the hotel was completely booked, and a church group in for a convention tended to stay and socialize long after they finsihed breakfast, taking up most, if not all, of the tables in the breakfast area making it difficult for other to find a place to sit.

The road construction is still going on, but we didn't hear any of the noise in our room. A worker had to direct traffic a couple of times for us to be able to drive out, but it was not a problem.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would consider this hotel if we were in the area again. I feel this property is slightly better than the "average" 3 rating; but feel the newer, more modern Hamptons could warrant a 4 rating, and the 5's would reserved for the upscale hotels.

Room Tip: If a fridge and microwave are important to you, be sure to specify when making reservations.

Located very close to the entrance to Great Smokey Mountains National Park and on the main drag through Galinburg, the Hampto Inn is perfectly located for those Wanting to explore Gatlinburg on foot. The creekside rooms offer a private balcony over a small, wooded creek that runs next to the hotel. Although there is some traffic and city noise, there overall effect is tranquil. Our main "complaint" is the not so great hot breakfast. We've stayed at several other Hampton Inns that offered a much better breakfast experience. Okay, granted it's "free" breakfast, but I expected better than powdered eggs with unmelted cheese and bagged, frozen home fried potatoes. In any case, we will definitely consider Hampton Inn for a return trip to Gatlinburg.
