We have stayed in a Chalet Village property more times than I can count. Each one has been wonderful. The pictures are all dead on as to the actual view, house, interior, etc. The houses have always been very clean and the staff is wonderful. This time we stayed in C R Heaven. Perfect size for just the six of us. I read people who have put in negative comments due to the drive up the mtn, bugs, etc. That has nothing to do with Chalet Village. They did not create either of them. You are choosing to vacation in the mountains, that means there will be steep drives. Bugs are a part of nature, which you are in. We saw a momma bear with FOUR cubs in front of our house. Couldn't ask for anything more. Perfect view, perfect vacation. Thank you again Chalet Village.

I can't say enough good things about the chalet/cabin we stayed in Aug. 1-5. The view is breathtaking!! The bed is really comfy, everything worked perfectly(wifi, tv's etc), so clean it seemed brand new. We had an exciting encounter with a bear coming on the deck one afternoon-- we went inside quickly!! He and another bear were back the next morning but they stayed on the ground this time. As other reviews have mentioned the driveway is extremely steep and it does a hairpin curve before you get to the top. But that high in the mountains, you have to expect the steep roads, etc. The staff at Chalet Village was very helpful with directions, questions, suggested easy trails (we are in our 50's) etc. One more thing, you can sit on any one of the three decks on this property and watch the sky tram "Ober Gatlinburg" take people into town and back. Such a fun trip and good memories were made:)

We are relatively inexperienced in Gatlinburg rentals as this was only our second trip. We rented a super cabin in downtown the first year and while the cabin and location were great it lacked a great view and also lacked access to a pool. So we went to Chalet Village and got both.

Unfortunately for us the original rental was damaged in a fire in late May and we ended up in a substitute cabin for our July vacation. 937 Wiley Oakley "All about the view" certainly had that and also access to the three Chalet Village pools. So we got what we wanted there but the substitute was smaller, cheaper and less well appointed than the original rental

To their credit they offered us a full refund but late in the booking season we opted to stay put. The substitute was nice enough. A bit dated, a bit worn, and a bit less than e really wanted in terms of modern appointments.

But we had a good time and I would recommend the booking company and the area.

One word of advise. We got robbed on the morning we checked out. Stolen from a unlocked car that was being packed were a Nintendo DS handheld game and a portable GPS system. The thief we know now was cruising around with a kid in the car looking for this scenario. When our son-in-law went back inside the thief cleaned the unlocked car of easy to grab items. He was probably there for 30 seconds and when he left he left both doors of the Escalade open.

Shane on us for feeling safe and secure in the secluded area.

We would not go back to this cabin (not right for us) but we would try the company and area again.

Room Tip: Book early...

This was our second trip to TN. Our first trip was horrible bc of our cabin. But our stay here was clean. Super clean!!! Great view, peaceful, got to see a bear. Close to hiking, downtown, great food downtown. I LOVED IT. We will be back without a doubt. Stayed from July 29- Aug 2. Thanks Lesley D

My family (mom, dad, aunt, husband and toddler) stayed in one of the Chalet Village properties. We loved our chalet. You could not have asked for a better place to stay! It was just the right size, squeaky clean, beautiful view, quiet, comfortable beds, had all the amenities you could ever need and was still a very short trip to all the action in Gatlinburg. I will definitely use Chalet Village again on our next Gatlinburg trip!!

The cabin we stayed in, on Nordic circle, was VERY outdated and in desperate need of updating. The cabin has 4 levels. The top floor was a loft style, with a bedroom, full bath, and a den with a daybed including a pull out trundle underneath. On the second floor were 2 bedrooms, a full bath, the kitchen/dining area and a living space. The 3 story balcony started here. The grills were dirty and so were the picnic tables. The decor was poor, very unattractive. Updated appliances, but poor furniture and the floors were in need of repair. The third floor consisted of 3 bedrooms, a full bath and a living space, and also the second level balcony. The picnic tables were dirty here also. The carpet was gross, and the bathroom was dirty. Bugs galore! The bottom floor was by far, the most repulsive. This floor had the bottom balcony with, you guessed it, dirty picnic tables; a pool table, the washer/dryer, another fridge/small outdated gross sink, the dirty hot tub in the even dirtier sauna room, a full bath, a half bath, and 2 bedrooms. First of all, the carpet was REPULSIVE, SICKENING, I seriously could not walk on the floor without shoes. The bathrooms were SUPER outdated and in desperate need of remodel. There were bugs in every corner, spider webs, cob webs, the sliding doors were horrible, the shower was disgusting, I never felt clean, the beds were awful, I found a different kind of bug every morning I woke up!! Not to mention the smell! Like moldy, dirty socks.

Overall, DON'T STAY IN THIS CABIN! I'm sure the company has much nicer cabins. The company and the workers were nice and helpful, but they need to do serious work on 2114 Nordic circle!!!!!!!!!!!!!
