“#1 ???”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2013

We were looking for good ice cream, and saw this "creamery" listed as #1. It is in the nice section of Gatlinburg, in the quaint and pretty Village. It is not really fair for this place to be #1 in the restaurant category... it is a TINY shop that sells coffees and ice cream. I didn't recognize the brand ice cream. I will agree the gentleman behind the counter was VERY nice, shop clean and charming, but the ice cream was average. I would not go out of my way to get ice cream from them again. As ice cream enthusists, we couldn't find good ice cream in Gatlinburg. Kilwin's was better, and everyone knows Ben&Jerrys. We were hoping to find a homemade ice cream somewhere, but now I think this area is not known for ice cream! Certainly pay these nice people a visit, but #1 is setting the bar too high, unfairly against larger food establishments.

Thank you for visiting our shop based on our # 1 rating with Tripadviser. We do understand your confusion on how our little shop is ranked in the same catagory as the" Larger Food Establishments"(Franchises) especially since we are the only family owned ice cream and coffee shop in Gatlinburg. We also agree that it is "Unfair" but not unfair to us ... We think its "Unfair" to all the "Larger Food Establishments" for being in the same catagory as us. They just cannot offer you that personal touch and commitment to earn your business again that a family owned shop can. Thank you for your review...

“Frozen Dairy Delight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2013

We passed up about 25 ice cream places to try out this establishment since it was #1 on Trip Advisor and my travel companion insisted. I had the birthday cake ice cream and afterwards tried the coffee. Both were very good, but the service was *exceptional*. The attendant behind the counter seemed genuinely happy to be there, despite his encountering a tourist clientele who would probably otherwise not be in a position to regularly return for repeat business. I witnessed him also conversing with an elderly patron which reaffirmed his authentic friendly disposition. There is limited seating outside in the shade for enjoying a truly delightful afternoon treat.

Thank you so much for your kind review. It means a lot to us when our customers understand and appreciate what we are, a mom and pop business. We take great pride that we are family owned and that we offer great customer service with a great product. Thanks again and we look forward to seeing you soon...

“Cute spot, but why #1 in Gatlinburg?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2013

We stopped here based on the rating and enjoyed it but weren't especially impressed. The location is tucked away and charming and the one server on duty that night was very gracious. Price was on the high side $3.99 for regular scoop plus $.75 for a waffle cone or waffle bowl. Several of us ordered cookie dough and did like it. But the selection wasn't large and there are so many places to choose from in the immediate area that I don't see a reason to return here.

Thank you so much for visiting our little shop based on our Tripadviser rating. We are the only mom and pop shop in Gatlinburg that sells ice cream. The 18 flavors of ice cream that we carry seem like alot to us but we do understand that compared to those "Big Franchises" it probably isn't. We are so sorry that you see no reason to return to our shop and you cannot understand why we are rated #1 by our customers on Tripadviser, but by your own admission; our shop was Charming, our customer service Excellant, and our ice cream Delicious. Maybe when you visit the other places you will understand...

“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2013

We walked a while on the strip in Gatlinburg to find this ice cream shop. We passed at least 10 ice cream stores, and my friend said "this ice cream shop better be good." We were not disappointed by the Village Cafe and Creamery. It's in a European looking shopping area so it has a vintage look to it.
The worker was very helpful and hospitable. He recommended the O'Charley's carmel pie ice cream, and I must say, I have never had that flavor in any other ice cream shop before.
We sat out on their front porch and listened to 2 country musicians so it was very peaceful, and the atmosphere was nice.
In the end, my friend ordered ice cream and coffee, both of which he said was awesome, and agreed it was worth the walk to find this shop.
