“Crowded loud campground with lots of traffic noise.”
Reviewed 28 July 2012 via mobile

1. Had a tent campsite..most tent campsites are small..any of the ones at the front of the park are crowded and you have traffic all day from the highway and people coming in leaving..lots of diesel trucks...kids loud..so not a relaxing campsite. The campsites on the creek are much better due to the white noise of the creek.

2. Bathrooms by the pool are dirty at best..u wonder if it is water or dirty pee your stepping in.

3. Pool is crowded and not clear...pool is large..but people take chairs with towels and they aren't even staying in the pool area.

4. Bounce house was closed for no apparent reason...1 was open with water slide and big slide was open.

5. Wi fi signal is way to weak for good use..must be near store. And game room is not air conditioned with mostly older games.

Ok positives:

Campers mostly friendly, 500ft slide is very fun, picnic tables at every site, fire ring..lots of trees.

Overall..I felt it was a redneck campground and I live within an hour. This in my opinion is a crappy overpriced campground for tent camping unless u pay for a secluded upgraded sight far from the bath house and pool. Unless you know your campsite..the leftover stuff is open for a reason..sucky campsites. 76$ for 2 nights with a tent...I could have 2 good nights at a hotel with pool for the $100

This was a horrible experience. Electrical problems in part of park, water slide always closed, stated pool hours were not adhered to, change machine in laundry did not work, dryers had to run about 3 cycles per load, store hours were not adhered to, our assigned spot was way to small for our fifth wheel, no room to park tow vehicle on the spot, our camper was out in the road. We called 3 days before we arrived to make sure our spot was big enough, they assured us it was. We were booked for a week, stayed 2 full days. They iced the cake by digging up the sewage grinder next to our site. We loaded up and headed to the office to check out, where we meet by the rudest person ever to work in a customer service position, who is also the park manager. Rude is putting it mildly. I wouldn't hire this woman to slop hogs; she has no business working with the public. We got a full refund, but we lost a whole day of our vacation. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! There are excellent camp grounds in Gatlingburg, this is not one of them. We moved to Outdoor Resorts @ Gatlingburg and it and the people are wonderful! !

We checked in July 1st out July 7 th the campsight was full. We were next to the playground and bathrooms. We had 4 campsights and a very tight fit. There were 3 bathrooms for ladies always a long line in the morning and bed time to even brush your teeth. And 5 showers for both men and women to share. The pool was so packed with people the water was not refreshing. We finally had enough and all checked out a day early. There should be guidelines to how many bathrooms per campers. Outside teenagers were playing basketball next to our campsight and the ball keeped bouncing on the tents and tables knocking everything over.

We stayed at this campground on our visit to the Smoky's in June of 2012. The campground was pretty, had lots of shade trees and was clean for the most part, however, it was run down and in need of updates. The game room was very poor with many of the machines not in good working order and there wasn't a lot of fun things to do. The only internet connection is at the game room and it was spotty. If you are an R.V. camper, please be advised that there are A LOT of tent sites and they do rent R.V. sites to tents campers. The cable is spotty..sometimes works and somethings doesn't..if you have a sat; (dish etc) just don't even bother hooking the cable up. The water slide was great and lots of fun! The staff members who worked at the water slide were very nice, helpful and kept the splash pool clean. The hours of operation should be extended (it opened at noon and closed at 6:00). Overall, a good camping experience, but be aware of the negatives because these things may be more important to you then they were to us.

Internet shows multi. Jump houses for kids. Only is one. Pond is dirty looking. Sewer back up at camp site. And they said we canceled camp site which we did not and if we would have why wouldnt they have put our money back to our card. Then other people that said it happen to them too. Six 6 games in arcade worked. Would not stay again. There are some workers there make you feel like you are a bother, and the washers dont fill all the way up and took bout 1hr to dry clothes. Would not atay there again. Amd we had electic hook up problems at the camp site.

We camped here for 5 days. We loved this campground. Very family and pet friendly. My kids are 9 and 5 and they loved the 500ft water slide, the jumpys, the pool and the story (jack tales). The camping sites(tent) are small (but thats pretty normal for camping). The bathrooms are ok, the showers are very week on water pressure, so depending on what time you try to go, if there are others using the showers or bathrooms the water trickles! Very hard to wash your hair. The staff is pretty much an older crowd, they are NOT familiar with the area so dont ask for directions.

As far as the campground being near attractions.....its 15 mintues to down town gatlinburg, and then from there another 10min to pigeon forge. We went to cades cove to go tubing (that was a good hour from the campground).

Room Tip: tents to rain alot, (just 1-2 hour showers every day) so if you have a tent i would get a site with...

My family and I stayed here the week before Memorial Day, we rented a cabin. The cabin was beautiful, and the location was incredible. I can honestly say I have never "camped" somewhere more beautiful. Falling asleep to the sound of rushing creeks is great, gave me the best sleep in months! Almost everything we needed was provided in the cabin. We were there just before the beginning of the busy season, so some of the amenities were not available--but it looked like they would have been a lot of fun. So, we knew the pool would not be open during the week, but we had been told it would be open the weekend before Memorial Day, and it wasn't. We were also disappointed that the bounce houses were not open, as we had been told. My son has epilepsy, and we figured if he wasn't able to do anything else, he'd at least be able to bounce to his hearts content. So it was a huge letdown that they were not available, it really upset the rest of our plans. We were told the reason was because an exceptionally wet spring delayed some things. Now, I used to manage a camp, so I understand, and I have sweated out the arrival of busy season many times. So, I don't fault the campground on that; nevertheless, it was a disappointment to us, even though it was no fault of the campground.
We ended up leaving a day early, and the manager graciously refunded our one night. She didn't have to, we didn't expect her to, we didn't ask her to--but she did! Would we go back? Under better personal circumstances I would definitely give it a second try. It was a beautiful place, and it looked like improvements were being made.
