My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary. The hotel was nice, clean, and friendly service. The trolley picks up from the hotel to take you downtown. Our views were great from the 13th floor Mountain View room. My only complaint would be about the lack of water pressure in the shower and the drainage of the shower. We would stay again during off peak season. Our rate was $129. Peak season rates go up quite a bit from that.

We took the kids to Gatlinburg to see the lights on December 23, 2013. Park Vista is a favorite with our kids, so staying again was an easy choice. Check-in was a breeze and the service was friendly and efficient. The DoubleTree warm cookies at check-in is always a nice touch, especially on a cold December day! This is a popular facility for conferences which can lead to slower service, but luckily there weren't any conferences while we were there.

Our room was comfortable and very clean. It was well appointed with comfy bedding, a big screen TV and plenty of fluffy towels. There seems to be an architectural issue with the balconies, however. This was our second stay at this hotel and on both occasions, our balconies held water, making it somewhat difficult to enjoy the view. The carpet stays wet in front of the sliding door, too. (I don't know if it's water leaking in through the door or being tracked in on shoes, but it seems like that could eventually cause a mold issue.)

The pool is a favorite with both children and adults with its two levels, slides and hot tub. The pool area is also very clean, although it could have a few more chairs available. Families with small children will probably enjoy it more during late morning or early afternoon before the evening crowd and rougher "big kids" and teenagers take over.

We ordered late night snacks from room service. The menu has a lot of options and they were easily able to accommodate our son's food allergies. The service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious!

The best part of our trip was waking up to a snowy Christmas Eve! After a quick and easy checkout, we headed off to our favorite pancake place.

Our only real complaint didn't really involve the hotel. We were on the 8th floor and the room above us was really, really loud, constantly opening their sliding glass door (which isn't really loud until it's constant and late at night) and yelling on the balcony.

Room Tip: Although I don't think any room here could have a bad view, paying extra for a city view is totally worth it.

Consistently the best restaurant as far as food and service I have ever experienced in my travels. Very family friendly. All hotel personnel go far beyond the norm to assure stays are the best possible. Highly recommended for business and family travel.

We were told that because of a convention, everybody at the Park Vista took a shower at once, therefore there was no more hot water for us. They said the problem would be remedied by the second day of our stay. We woke up the second morning to luke warm water; still too cold to shower with. Gatlinburg was really cold and rainy the weekend of our stay and we NEEDED a hot shower. Needless to say, we did not stay our third night. We checked out early. I WOULD like to say however, that the manager of the restaurant was very good. He gave us complimentary coffee and Danish because the coffee pot in our room was broken (Otherwise there is no complimentary coffee at the Doubletree). Also since we couldn't get to the restaurant in time for breakfast, (due to the fact we were waiting on the shower water to heat up) he made us bacon and eggs later in the day. Two thumbs up to Victor and the restaurant staff. They are the reason we stayed TWO nights.

Thank you for staying with us and sharing feedback on the comfort and appointment of your visit. We are so sorry we encountered an issue with our water heaters and assure you it was quickly addressed, but we’re sorry that it wasn't resolved sooner. We’re currently replacing our old unit at our hotel, which we believe will solve the problem. We are glad to hear that our team was able to rectify the situation and we hope you’ll give us another chance to demonstrate our commitment to your satisfaction the next time you return to the area. Thank you, Melissa Jones mjones@parkvista.com

Took my family here for Vacation. Had no hot water for one day, when I asked about getting it fixed was told that they had to many people staying. The beds were very uncomfortable, felt like I was sleeping on the ground. Had to ask to get our room serviced 2 days in a row. Did not enjoy our stay.
