“Enjoyed it! Except restaurant.”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

We had a one bedroom villa. Very nice. Beautiful view! Would stay again. Like that it is away from the hustle and bustle of tourist trap pigeon forge. The only negative is the restaurant is completely horrible. Don't eat there. Otherwise we'd go back.

Room Tip: Ask for one higher up the mountain

This was our third time at this resort. We brought the whole family together three different groups of us. The younger children and teens experienced a wonderful time as well as the grandparents. We stayed at the 300 building which is equipted with elevators on top of the hill. My mother could not believe how wonderful everything was and how much room we all had. 16 people in a 4 bedroom unit on top of the hil with outstanding views.

The Waterpark was fantastic and all the staff friendly and helpful. Can't wait to do it again.

Room Tip: if you have a large group or people who have difficulty with stairs ask for accomodations in the 300...

1. Unless you would like to be suffocated in a room with closed doors, better don't book a studio. They may claim there is a window, but I don't believe it is a window. No ventilation to the room and no natural light.

2. Ultimately we had to upgrade to a better room. meaning you cough up around 40% more of the budget you had planned for.
3. Wi-fi Internet is terrible.

Looking forward to a couple of days in the mountains of Tenn. Very disappointed room was extremely dated wall paper ripped in kitchen and bathroom. Extremely noisey would not recommend to my worst enemy. Explained to the front desk at check in that wife just had surgery and could not go up stairs they could care less they put us on second floor with twenty steps. In section 228 They were completely booked and I could either take room or go somewhere else. I should have gone somewhere else the worst vacation. Dogs barking in room downstairs three days of horror

Room Tip: Ask about the steps to your room.

This resort provides family fun all day every day. The indoor water park is a major plus. There are on sight activities planned all day so families don't even have to leave the grounds. There are outdoor pools, a wonderful exercise room, arcades for the kids, a restaurant, and security. The only drawback I see is that when the resort if full, there aren't enough parking spaces if you return from a show late at night. Remember that it is built on a mountain so there is no level ground. Everyone is pleasant and helpful. If you are missing anything just call and it will be delivered. Great place to vacation. So much to see and do. Don't miss Cades Cove if you like nature. There are many hiking trails as well as dinner shows.

Room Tip: Larger rooms have balconies if you want a great view of the mountains. The higher you stay the bette...

I've been to several hotels, motels, inns, b&b, resorts etc. NONE have charged me to use WiFi if it was available at the location. Can't say that about Westgate Smoky Mountain. It took a good amount of complaining to get the $10/day fee waived. Moving on. The resort is in a beautiful location, close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. There is plenty to do in both. They even have a water park on the property-got to pay extra. There is a restaurant and lounge. Most activities carry a fee. Rooms are very nice, beds could be more comfortable. Resort is pet friendly-if you have one pet under 60 lbs and pay the $170 "cleaning" fee. Overall a good place to stay but you should be getting more for your buck.

Thank you for your feedback. At Westgate Smoky Mountain, we offer lots of amenities for all to enjoy. For some of our activities and amenities there are small fees to cover equipment rental or the supplies needed. We are sorry if this was an inconvenience and kept you from truly enjoying all of what the resort has to offer. We thank you for trusting us with your family’s vacation and hope you will return to share with us again.
