After years of staying , and dealing with Westgate ( we are owners , and have been for 12 to 15 years ) I think things are finally coming together. This past stay 2 weeks ago we were assigned someone to help us with dealing with reservations , arrangements , etc. We had seen this done for years with other owners , but we were never assigned someone. No one could ( or can ) tell me why this never happened for us. But ,,,,, now we have Dena to assist us . We changed our deeded property this trip to get away from the C level room. Now we have 1 A and 2 B's ,,,,, and it will be much more conducive to entertaining friends when we visit. We also own with another timeshare service, and trade their time out , but we always use the Westgate property there in Gatlinburg to stay on site. Have for years , and don't plan to change !

Room Tip: Don't expect to get the room you want ,,,,,, we almost never do. We've tried for years to be...

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that our staff was so helpful to you. We are always looking for areas to improve upon so that all our owners and guests feel the comforts of a “home away from home”. As you know, this is a great vacation location which includes our indoor water park, serenity spa and smokehouse grill. We look forward to your next visit for more happy memories.

The staff is great and will try their best to help, plently of kids activities on a rainy day. wasn't too crowded. Parking is horrible. They give out multiple parking permits and en result is no parking for renters if you return late. You have to oark at the bottom of the mountain and get a ride up in a golf cart-not fun with my mother and 3 kids. Was VERY unhappy-resort offered no fix. Matressess were VERY uncomfortable. Location is great for nature adventure or shopping. Close to both. Nice views.

Room Tip: ask for top of mountain

Thank you very much for your review on Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort. We do limit the amount of parking passes given out. But even with those measures in place, sometimes during high occupancy times parking can become a challenge. I apologize and sincerely thank you for your patience. Located within the resort are several activities for the entire family to participate. We hope you were able to explore Downtown Gatlinburg and other local shopping plazas as well. We would love to have you and your family back at the resort!

The resort is midway between Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge, and that is about the best thing I can honestly say. There is shuttle service around the resort with connections to the shuttles that run throughout Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge. Once you figure out the shuttle you can go pretty much anywhere without worrying about parking, especially Gatlingburg. The shuttle within the park is vital because all of the lodging is on a hill, a rather steep hill at that. If you want a workout, go for a walk.

Check-n was a snap and Harrod was a very nice guide as he showed us to our studio and helped us get settled . The staff is friendly and helpful with any problems and is willing to lend a hand when needed. 'Merry Christmas' was the greeting of the week.

I was not impressed with our studio. The studio we used for the week was tiny, but clean, with the usual amenities, dishes and silverware for 2 to 4 people, small frig and microwave and stove, queen size bed shoved in the corner. The sofa folds out into a double but if you do that there is NO ROOM for anything else. We were there during a cold snap and the heat ran constantly, rattling thru the vents as it struggled to keep the room at 70 degrees. The shower has no handrails of any kind and the hot water disappeared quickly on the cold mornings. The TV only has basic cable so there are about 7 channels to use.

if you are not an owner, even if you have exchanged a timeshare week from another location, extras will cost you. Items like Internet service,or use of the indoor waterpark, are additional costs. There is a spa with lots of expensive services and a fitness room next to it. The little tiny store located inside the lobby is stocked with the basics, but be prepared to pay triple prices. I paid $1.71 for a Yoplay yogurt. If you can, shop outside the resort and stock your kitchen accordingly.
The restaurant within the resort is just average. The hamburgers are huge, enough for 3 adults, and extremely greasy. The dinner menu offers a small variety of items, but the main entrees are huge and easily shareable. Don't bother with the 'sweet potato' fritters. Think hush puppies that taste like a sweet potato. The bar associated with the restaurant contains the standard bar selections and if you like sports you're in luck. Lots of TVs on the various sport channels.
The fireplace in the lobby is nice and the people that are trying to help are really wanting to help. I never saw a frown on anyone wearing the uniform of the resort. I'm sure summer must be great but I'll pass.

Room Tip: If you're interested in the waterpark or spa try to stay low on the mountain close to the lobby...

We decided on this resort based on location and the indoor water park. We were really excited to get to this hotel after the 11 hr drive from New York and me being 8 months pregnant I was just ready to get to our room and relax. Upon arrival we were corralled into NOT the actual hotel entrance but to a seperate building for people doing the "tour" which i put in quotes because it is a bunch of well dressed "employees" trying to sell you everything under the sun. NO I do not want to sit thru a 4 hr tour where you are trying to get me to buy a time share. And they tell you you can leave but thats a lie your basically taken to and from rooms so they can get your money. Your driven around BY AN EMPLOYEE on a golf cart to your room...you cant even go by yourself..why?? Because this gives them another opportunity to try and sell you a time share YET AGAIN!!! THIS IS NOT A VACATION, THIS IS A MONEY MAKING BUSINESS OF CONSTANT NAGGING AND PRESSURING!!!! Needless to say we demanded a refund and took our children else where to a MUCH nicer resort in pigeon forge. No matter what the managers say THEY WANT YOUR MONEY AND THATS IT!!!!! NOT RELAXING AT ALL!!!!!

Thank you for your feedback. We do have a great location central to downtown Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, area attractions and the national park. We are actually a timeshare resort that has many satisfied owners who come here for a carefree and relaxing vacation. Our timeshare tours are optional and, if you are not interested, you are welcome to leave at any time. We do offer to drive you to your vacation unit, but that is also optional-if you prefer to drive there and load the luggage yourself, you are welcome to do that. We're sorry that you didn't have a chance to enjoy our 2 outdoor heated pools, hot tubs, scheduled fun activities for the whole family, Wild Bear Falls Waterpark, the largest indoor waterpark in the whole southeast, our onsite restaurant, game room, playground and a lot more. It's our wish to have another chance to provide you with a wonderful vacation.

Sincerely,
David

After booking this trip (which was an experience in itself with the trickery "travel insurance" guarantee) and reading all the reviews, I was extremely concerned about this hotel. We booked the hotel 3 months in advance for Thanksgiving weekend and requested a 2 bdrm or joining rooms since the in-laws were traveling with us. Upon arrival at approx. 3:45, we were told not only did they not have 2 bdrm available but that our party would be split up in 2 buildings with rooms on 3rd floor. Not a happy camper at this point. After some apparently magical work (and a prayer or two by me) by one of the managers they were able to find a 2 bdrm suite. The room was fantastic, the resort was extremely nice, and most of the staff we came in contact with were pleasant and professional. We were never asked about the time share stuff which was relieving. Suggestions I would make: (1) as it states in most of these reviews, there is no maid service so you need to expect this upon arrival & plan accordingly; (2) the fee for the water park entry is high and sad that you have to pay this in addition to everything else. I would suggest either not charging a fee or tacking this on to the resort fee so that people don't have to see it as a separate expense. I think the cost of the room, the resort fee they slide in upon arrival and no maid service should be plenty saved to cover the cost; (3) shuttle services to the lobby & water park were kind of scarce at night when it was cold & dark; (4) make sure that you understand CLEARLY all the fine print. Overall a great experience and would probably book again....as long as I am able to book the exact room I want.

Room Tip: Our bdrm was right beside the playground and could possibly walk to water park & lobby. Great ro...

We're very glad that you chose to stay with us and that your experience was great. When a guest books a 2 bedroom, they should get a 2 bedroom, and we're glad that a manager was able to address your concern. Our housekeepers are available to our guests to get clean towels and linens, and we can schedule a cleaning if requested. Our Wild Bear Falls Water Park is available to our guests, much like our Spa and Restaurant are. There is a cost associated with it, but it is conveniently available for your family's enjoyment without having to travel. We also offer large multi-day discounts and waterpark vacation packages. We thank you very much for your suggestions and will forward them to the appropriate persons for review. It really pleases us that you found it overall a great experience, and we hope to have you come back again soon!

Sincerely,
David

My check-in was fast no waiting, my service Rep Mary was very knowledgeable of when my deposit charge would be credited, she only top 5min to check in then another 5 min for our Conciege to escort us to our property, which was on the top of the hill. Which was an awesome site, the place was decorated so nice. The conciege helped us with the luggage and showed us all the amenities in the room, the icing on the cake was they had a juicer, and I had fresh tangerines that I had brought with us. They had stainless steel cooking ware and utensils, had a washer and dryer all in one. I had never seen this, the fireplace and bedroom everything was sooo lovely, I want to buy a time share here. Very nice place to stay!!!!
