If you are planning a trip to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg or the Smoky Mountains I highly recommend the Westgate Resort in the Smokey Mountains. The rooms are clean and comfortable- ours was a one bedroom, with full kitchen and family room. There is a water park on site for an additional fee - and two outdoor pools (no additional cost!). This is such a lovely location and the hotel rooms all offer beautiful vistas of the mountains. The resort is situated at the base of a national park-it doesn't get any better than that for tranquility. Better restaurants and bigger pub patios would go a long way to offering a "I don't have to leave the resort" experience.

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues make sure you tell the hotel when booking.

This was the most beautiful and sprawling place I have stayed at. The price was perfect and the staff was wonderful.
Do not sit for a time share presentation, they bait and switch and are pushy. 90 minutes means 3 hours!

We spent 4 days at this resort as a gift and it exceeded our expectations. Westgate called to confirm our reservations and we shared that we were on honeymoon and just wanted to enjoy the gift on this trip. The representative stated she would note our profile. We were not pressured once to take part in a sales presentation. We were asked a couple of times if we would like to, but not pressured. We opted for an upgrade because we wanted a balcony. We once again were overly impressed with what we had to pay for. The one bedroom was equipped with King bed and jacuzzi tub, furnished kitchen and a washer/dryer combo. We were able to shop at the local Walmart with the great directions given by our concierge and we had breakfast everyday in our room and dinner on the one night we stayed on the resort for the evening. The resort entrance is across from the Smokey Mountains welcome center which gave guides and coupons for local events and hiking trails. Pigeon Forge offered dinner shows, stores and events. Gatlingburg offered wineries, shineries, and Ober Gatlingburg for a day of fun activities and wonderful view of the mountains. The wi-fi cost for daily usuage, so we opted to not use. The restaurant closed at 10pm so if you have an evening event planned it would be wise to include dinner while you're out.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies seem to have more space and perfect location.

The resort is in a stunning location on the edge of the Smoky Mountains with fabulous views as we went up the mountain to our apartment. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout. However the resort is large and growing into a decent sized town which was not easy to navigate at night (lack of signposting) and our brand new apartment was not well laid out or soundproofed, not helped by being able to hear the neighbours or the aircon units outside our window.

We understand our resort is rather large and we do offer a free shuttle that runs our guests to and from different areas in the resort. We do have security available at all times on site.
