ok place to stay considering reasonable rate, good location within walking distance to town, room was large, not anything fancy but clean and fairly comfortable beds, pool was small but refreshing, front desk staff answered questions but not friendly or informative, breakfast was ok-the usual continental with the waffles you can make yourself-breakfast room was not very open or cheery-small and no large windows to enjoy the views

Not a very warm welcome at front desk upon check in. There is a lodge/cabin feel. My room was large and & I loved the wet bar at the foyer entrance into the room. Had to get housekeeping to vacuum carpet because of dirty filter in air conditioner throwing out lint balls. They also vacuumed out the filter in the A/C. Carpet looked worn out as did the couch. Baseboards around walls were damaged in some areas. The jets in the tub really need to be replaced. They looked old & worn as well. Never used them. Lots of towels. Hot water. Bed was cozy & comfortable. Slept great. Never heard any outside noise from other guests. ie: doors slamming, voices in hallways. Would stay again if I had to but I believe there may be better, less expensive options in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for balcony room on either side.

I stayed at the bearskin lodge on when my wife and I got married. We had a jacuzzi room, there was a gas fireplace. The place was very nice, I have no complaints about the hotel at all. There was garage parking, which was nice at the time because it rained most of our trip. There is an outdoor pool which is a little small and not very private. Bearskin lodge sits on a main back road and backs up to the river which is tranquil since we had a balcony in our room we could sit out and enjoy the river. The lobby and staff were very nice. The only problem I had was the place is overpriced compared to some of the surrounding hotels. My cousin stayed at a neighboring hotel, he didnt pay as much, had more amenities, and a nicer indoor pool. Great location, within walking distance to everything. The rooms and beds were nice. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the place. The only problem I had was just the price compared to some other places near.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the backside of the hotel so you will have a view of the river.

Usually my husband and I stay in a cabin when we come up. This year we decided to stay in town so we could come back from fly fishing, get cleaned up and walk to get something to eat and enjoy the evening. The website for the Bearskin looked nice. We are familiar with the area and thought it would be a good location and it was.

We paid extra for a creek view and were given our choice of the 2nd or 5th floor. We choose the 5th and I am glad we did. It was high enough that gave us a view of some trees as well as the water. This was good because directly behind the creek is another run down hotel that was under renovation. While we still had some view if this and some noise, it could have been worse.

The room was clean and large. The jacuzzi tub was in the room not secluded at all. It had a gas fire place also. My only complaint about the room was that it was dark. The doors to the balcony were the only source of natural light and that was not enough. They could have been larger or extra windows added on either side.

They offer a free continental breakfast everyday. It had your normal items as well as a waffle maker for fresh waffles. They always had fresh bananas and apples which was nice to take with you for snacks.

They had a small pool and lazy river and outdoor fire pits for the evening. A nice touch.

When we were there, they were repaving the parking lot so parking could have been an issue but we were lucky everyday and was able to park. They also cleaned the carpets while we were there. We came back to our room and found furniture laying on the bed with a note that asked us to remove items from the floor that day so they could clean the carpets. It would have been nice to get that notice the day before or before we left for the day. Also, it would have been nice if they put the furniture back.

Our only other bad experience was that for three of our five nights, when we got back to the room, neither of our keys worked. Since we fish, we usually had our hands full of gear, which meant putting everything down while one of us went back to get the keys fixed. We were told that we must have had our keys close to something that demagnetized them. This was strange since we each had our keys in a different location.

Overall, it was ok but a little overpriced for what you get. The website made it look a little nicer than it actually was.

Room Tip: If you are not going to spend a lot of time in the room, the extra for stream view is not worth it b...

We stayed here while celebrating our 1 year anniversary. We were impressed with the hotel including the cleanliness and location. Our room was clean and new. The beds were comfortable and piled with several pillows. The jacuzzi was clean and we had plenty of hot water. The price was perhaps a bit much, but definitely not outrageous.

Breakfast consisted of make-your-own waffles, biscuits and gravy, muffins, bagels, cereal, milk, juice coffee, etc. Nothing special but not bad. The breakfast area is very small and crowded though so be prepared to take your food back to your hotel room during busy times.

Last year in April, we visited Bearskin Lodge for my birthday. I noticed that half of the parking lot was roped off, but since bus's were allowed to park there, i didn't pay any attention until the front desk staff advised us that they were painting lines in the parking lot.
This year in May, we returned to Bearskin Lodge for Mothers Day. When we arrived, half or more of the parking lot was roped off AGAIN! However, this time, there was not enough parking for the people who were booked in the hotel and they were told after a couple inane remarks to park across the street in another hotel's parking lot. They said that this was their overflow. Overflow??? What about half the parking lot that isn't being used? I realize they want to keep their appearance up and that's part of the reason we booked here instead of a cheaper hotel on the strip. But if you have too many cars vs open parking spaces, COMPROMISE! I don't think that's too much to ask.
If you decide to reserve with this hotel, the rooms are nice, the free breakfast is ok, the internet service is fine, but do not PLAN TO PARK! Call first and find out the situation first.
If we do come back, that would be our plan. If we come back.

Room Tip: the riverside rooms are shaded from the western sun

We stayed on the second floor next to the river. Very nice location and friendly staff.Nice size room but the carpet was filthy and cobwebs in the corners.Bathroom floors were dirty and the whole room needs an upgrade.
