This wonderful school of arts and crafts has something for every age group to learn. Whether its pottery to metal, glass to wood, painting to textiles, Arrowmont can teach you about the craft you always wanted to try. Weekend and week long classes are great for the tourists visiting our area while the community classes are a bargain for the locals. I have enjoyed every minute here.

This school provides a rustic setting for adults of all ages to explore art. I wandered through the galleries and poked my head in classrooms, I was mesmerized by the work being created. The staff and instructors are friendly, the galleries are small but worth seeing, and art store is also nice. I plan on returning to take a class.

An oasis in a sea of fudge
Posted by ann  from Orlando on 06/13/2005
My summer vacation for the past four years has been a week at Arrowmont in Gatlinburg. This wonderful arts and crafts school takes beginner to advanced artists in a variety of media. Instructors are top notch - all experts in their area. The schedule of classes changes weekly - there may be watercolor one week, oils the next. Most impressive is the wood building where students practice woodturning and woodworking. Housing and meal service are available on campus. The Arrowcraft shop is a cute place but the real art is up the drive to the left of the shop in the galleries. Highly recommended, especially after all the "karmel korn", fudge and tacky t-shirts.

These Crafts were so awesome. Saw so many original works by locally trained artist. Beautiful jewelry, wearables, quilts, woodworking, etc. all must be seen to be appreciated. DO NOT miss visiting.
