My wife and I really love this hotel. At around $160 a night, it was the best "bang for the buck" that we have ever had. The terry cloth robes, whirlpool tub, wood burning fireplace were all great. I agree with all the great remark made about this place.

The hotel is situated in a stunning location. The trail works are fantastic. We found the suites to be very impressive, with high spec in every room. The staff were very helpful and food is pretty good too. This is great place to go get closer to nature, it is 100% recommended.

Just what the owners promise and more. Children I am sure are welcome but this property is for romance, solitude, reflection and is a beautiful retreat. The creek pavillion at dusk is were to have a close bear encounter. Sit, be still and quiet and one might come very close! It happened for us in late June 2008, first time visit.

A last minute getaway, we booked our stay at Buckberry Creek through Expedia. What a find! We stayed in the Nymph suite. The suite was clean and comfortable. Staff was very accomodating and pleasant.
We stayed in a gallery suite, upgraded from a lodge suite. Wonderful gas fireplace and large master bath. Comfy soft bed. Second story balcony provided a terrific view of the mountains. The owners really looked into the details when building this property.
We hiked down the .5 mile trail to the creek where they also have a pavilion and firepit area.
MapQuest or GPS doesn't quite get you there, so make sure to confirm your directions to the lodge. However, access to Gatlinburg is quick and easy. Market is just around the corner.
They are in process of adding pool and hot tubs to their property. This was the only thing missing!
We will defintely return and tell all our friends!!!

I can't say enough. This place was amazing! We stayed in the room named 'Leconte". The view overlooking Mt. Leconte was incredible. Very clean. The Adirondack architecture was beautiful. We arrived in our shorts and t-shirts and seen many people dressed up (probably for dinner) and we weren't sure how we would be greeted. But they were exceptionally nice to us the entire time. The staff was wonderful. Everything was great, even the cookies they brought to our room after we checked in. The price is higher but well worth it. Less than 10 min. from downtown Gatlinburg. We like to travel so we have seen our share of good and bad. This is one of the best!!! We went in May and saved a few dollars. They will definately be seeing us again!

Stayed at the Lodge on 4/23 and loved it! Rooms are clean and confortable with georgous views of the mountains. This hotel provides a lot of nice extras-free internet, water, sodas, hot chocolate etc., as well as a yummy continental breakfast in the morning. Loved the cranberry scones and coffee cake! My family and I had dinner there-pricy but the food was out of this world! Buckberry Creek is beautiful-I highly suggest you make a trip down there in the "mountain limo"- what a peaceful place it is with a lovely pavillion and trails. Staff was warm and friendly. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, a true gentleman. Hope to return to this wonderful place someday!

My husband, 9-year old son and I stayed here for 3 days over our spring break trip. We selected a lodge room thinking it would be plenty big enough for the 3 of us. It wasn't. The hotel was not very crowded but they didn't offer us the chance to upgrade to a bigger room. The rooms are cute enough although our bed sagged and with the sofa bed extended, there was not enough room to light a fire in the fireplace or easily access the outside deck. Housekeeping never put the sofa bed back after their rounds which meant we were pulling it in and out just to have some space.

The kitchen was well stocked although we didn't make use of the facilities except for making coffee and splitting up dessert. Because the hotel restaurant was closed 2 of the evenings we were there, we had to drive into town for dinner. After several long days of hiking, this wasn't necessarily all that appealing! The one evening we ate in the dining room, the food was excellent. Service was new and inexperienced but the overall experience very good. A buffet breakfast was included in the price of the room but there wasn't much that appealed to my son (lots of ultra sweet muffins and coffee cake, yogurt, bagels etc) and he ordered from the menu.

The location of the lodge was it's biggest asset but overall we didn't feel that the lodge deserved the hype or the excellent review we reviewed here before booking.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Lodge at Buckberry Creek has brought the elegance of the “Great Camps” of the Adirondacks to the pristine beauty of the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Designed to reflect the retreats created in the Adirondack Mountains over 100 years ago by some of the East Coast’s wealthiest families, Buckberry Lodge pampers guests with the true natural grandeur of the Adirondack architectural style. Nestled away high above Gatlinburg, Tennessee, The Woods building offers 14 luxury-suite rooms from 600 square feet to 750 square feet. Rooms feature fireplaces, private balconies, bathrooms with separate showers and Jacuzzi tubs. The majority of our suites have a King bed but we do have a few rooms with 2 Double beds. Rest, recharge, and relax within your suite or enjoy the area attractions of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. Our property is less than 2 miles from the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and all the beauty it holds. We are also less than 2 miles from Downtown Gatlinburg. There is a firepit which overlooks Mt. LeConte – a great spot to unwind & relax. Although we have experienced a great loss since the November 28th fire, we are very fortunate to have The Woods building to share with our guests. We look forward to welcoming you to The Lodge at Buckberry Creek for your Smoky Mountain lodging destination! ... more   less
