Easy to get to but you feel miles away from everything! Turn off you phone and just enjoy. The views are phenomenal everywhere on the property. All of the staff from the front desk, owners, grounds, housekeeping and wait staff were all very friendly and most helpful. We had a mini-honeymoon and stayed in a room with a full living room and kitchen. It could be very easy to make a log cabin setting cheesy but it was very well decorated. The view was exceptional just as we found all of Buckberry to be. The breakfast was included in the room price and very good. We had a dinner that was unique and exceptional as well but make reservations well in advance or you may not be able to get one once you are there. They will even pack a lunch for you to take on a picnic. Take the hike to the pavilion on the trail and you will find a fantastic place to relax, have lunch, wade in the creek or have a bonfire. We did not have children with us but they have lot's of activities for kids scheduled, like pumpkin carving. This is a must stay in Gatlinburg!!!

Room Tip: All room are great but get the top floor or you will hear the walking of your upstairs neighbors.

Perfect location, magnificent view, wonderful accommodations, extremely friendly and helpful people, delicious food, everything great! Special thanks to Megan. Wi-fi powerful, TV very satisfactory, and we sure felt that we got our money's worth, although it is not cheap. Two best places we ever stayed are the Buckberry Lodge and the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island.

The lodge is located off the bypass, and it's also easy to get to the end of Gatlinburg from the end near the park. All rooms are suites, ours had 2 double beds in the bedroom. If 2 people sleep in each bed, it would be tight. There is a sofa bed in the living area. There was a full kitchen with full size refrigerator and small oven/cooktop. There were enough utensils, dishes and cookware for 4 people. The sofa (when used as such) was a bit too deep in the seating. Decor throughout was beautiful and high quality otherwise. The bath was very nice, including a working jacuzzi, 2 sinks, plenty of counter space, drawers & cabinets. There was a separate room with the toilet & huge shower. Towels were all high quality, except some washcloths were a bit threadbare. Our porch had a breathtaking (not exaggerating) view, as did every room as far as I could tell. The check in process was smooth. We even met one of the owners after check in. There were activities for the kids, families included, that we're Halloween themed. Included at no extra cost (wonderful!) and made the day fun. The restaurant was top notch. We had the beef tenderloin and snapper. Both were excellent, they have a great chef. Breakfasts were included in our rate & included cereals, oatmeal, whole fruits like apples & oranges, scones & other pastries, bagels (with toasting optional), scrambled eggs, bacon & gash browns. Juice, milk, tea & coffee also. There are games available to be played in the main building or in your room. There is a 1 mile walking trail, a creek & transport down there if you can't walk it. We will be going back to this special place!!

This is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Yes, the wi-fi was sporadic but it didn't effect our experiece and they did move quickly on the issue. We will be back.

Room Tip: I feel any room would be excellent.

How often do you have your expectations exceeded?

That was our experience staying at the Lodge. The very spacious 40 rooms include a full service kitchen, living room with fireplace and master bedroom. The views from our balcony were spectacular. While only 10 years old, it was built with a log cabin and rustic furniture motif which is perfect within the Smokies.

The main lodge is comfortable and spacious and offers board games and local literature. The restaurant, where we had our dinner both nights, outside on the balcony watching the sunset, was very good. Wine list could use a little improvement but the food was very good and service wonderful.

The park was closed during our visit which was a huge disappointment and the surrounding areas are one large concrete jungle of amusement parks, motels and fast food restaurants for families, so I can't say I was impressed with the surrounding area, but the Lodge was a wonderful oasis to escape to each night.

Room Tip: I'm not sure there is a bad room in the whole complex. We stayed on the main level in The Lodge...

The site does not have a pool or spa.....but the attraction should not be that. It is very scenic (Smoky Mountains), it is very rustic (only 8 years old but constructed to look old) and the restaurant is good.....It is nearby the park and as long as the federal government agrees to pay its employees very accessible and an attraction. Employees on site are very friendly, customer oriented and great to chat and converse with....Will look to go back

Room Tip: Not sure if all rooms are as scenic as our was....We were in Turtle point and the view of the Smoky...

Large rooms with gas fireplace, balcony with great view of the Smokies, large bathroom with both tub and separate shower stall, kitchen with full size refrigerator. Excellent service and great restaurant with same view - try the Dr. Pepper creme brulee. My only complaint is that the wi-fi was in and out and low bandwidth - a problem at most hotels (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r26044411-Why-does-hotel-WiFi-suck-).

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Lodge at Buckberry Creek has brought the elegance of the “Great Camps” of the Adirondacks to the pristine beauty of the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Designed to reflect the retreats created in the Adirondack Mountains over 100 years ago by some of the East Coast’s wealthiest families, Buckberry Lodge pampers guests with the true natural grandeur of the Adirondack architectural style. Nestled away high above Gatlinburg, Tennessee, The Woods building offers 14 luxury-suite rooms from 600 square feet to 750 square feet. Rooms feature fireplaces, private balconies, bathrooms with separate showers and Jacuzzi tubs. The majority of our suites have a King bed but we do have a few rooms with 2 Double beds. Rest, recharge, and relax within your suite or enjoy the area attractions of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. Our property is less than 2 miles from the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and all the beauty it holds. We are also less than 2 miles from Downtown Gatlinburg. There is a firepit which overlooks Mt. LeConte – a great spot to unwind & relax. Although we have experienced a great loss since the November 28th fire, we are very fortunate to have The Woods building to share with our guests. We look forward to welcoming you to The Lodge at Buckberry Creek for your Smoky Mountain lodging destination! ... more   less
