The Lodge is beautiful and it seems like you are away from it all except you are only about a 10 minute trip to downtown Gatlinburg. We had a room in building 5. It was very spacious even with 2 kids. There was a nice small kitchen that we never used except for keeping our drinks cold. The bathroom was great! Nice large jetted tub, 2 sinks and a large shower. The bed was a little soft for our liking and the kids were comfortable on the pullout sofa. There was a nice gas fireplace and the views from our balcony were gorgeous.

There is a really nice 1/2 mile hike to a creek which is awesome! Best part of our stay here. There is an area where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There is a phone there where you can call to get transportation back up to your building, very nice.

Now for the negative- Towels. We never had enough of them! With 3 girls showering once or twice daily they should at least give a family of 4 - 4 towels. I had to call almost everyday for towels and wash clothes.

They left cookies on your bed daily ... Very nice except there were only 2 cookies for a family of 4.

Our first night there a tree fell on some power lines and we had no power from about 4am until 1 pm the next day. No apologies were made- that didn't seem right to me.

This place would be very nice for a couple - I think if you are with kids you would want to stay on the main strip in Gatlinburg, parking is very difficult in town so being able to walk everywhere would be nice. Also this place has no swimming pool!!!! The kids hated that.

Our week long stay at this peaceful resort was amazing. We booked a last-minute room. Our room 1105 was in building 1 and actually down a flight. We were not disappointed at all. We had a lovely and private porch off the amazing living room with gas fireplace. The fireplace was not functioning, so I called the front desk. Within 5 minutes someone was there to fix it. The kitchenette was fine, but we did not cook. The bedroom was a spacious king and very clean and comfy. The bath has a separate jetted tub, two sinks, and a shower for two with bench seating. A full buffet-style breakfast is included with the room. We were offered scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, pastries, cereal, grits, fruit and yogurt, tea, coffee and juice. The view from the restaurant is amazing. The service was very good. We had dinner there a few times. The food was excellent but limited for those of us who do not like meat. The grounds of the resort back up to the GSMNP. Be sure to hike down to the creek for a special and relaxing treat. Bring your libations and snacks and plan to stay awhile, restrooms available. They offer a ride down if you like and there is a phone available to call for a lift up.

Room Tip: We probably had a less desirable room on the lowest floor and it was amazing.

This is a great place to kick back and relax. The view is magnificent and the Lodge architecture and design is spot on. I was so impressed with every detail. The staff was friendly and helpful. I do not have one single negative. This place has it all! I wish I could go back tomorrow.

This was one of the most challenging reviews I've written. On the one hand, compared to what else is around Gatlinburg and the area, this is a 5-star resort. However, this is not on the same level as a Ritz Carlton/Waldorf/etc. The rooms were large, the beds comfortable, the lighting decent. The employees were phenomenal. However, there were stumbles (that were rectified, but sometimes repeated). The garbage disposal didn't work (fixed). The A/C leak pan almost overflowed (fixed). Never had enough towels (fixed, but required a daily phone call). Two homemade cookies were left for us to enjoy (but we had three people in the room, and they weren't left every day). There was a small exercise room with a treadmill, stepmaster, and bike, along with weights, but it was clearly not on the list of things to check each day, since my used towel from the first day was the only towel in the room for my entire stay. Based on the location midway up a mountain, there is constant battle against insects, and toward the last day, the insects were winning. So, if you want high-end service, comfortable rooms, and nice facilities, and you don't want to stay along the strip in a motel, this is a great choice. Just don't expect a big-city 5-star hotel.

This place was so great I really didn't want to leave. My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and just loved it. It's close to town but far enough away that it doesn't feel touristy. The views from the porch and bedroom were spectacular. Staff was all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast that's included in room rate is good and can be enjoyed on the balcony overlooking the mountains. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice path to buck berry creek with a little pavilion at the end. Will definitely be coming back next time we make it to the smokies! I'm only bummed I didn't see any bears! :)

Visited with my family, but the hotel is nice for couples too. With nice mountain, tree top view from balconies and buck berry creek within the property, this hotel is worth recommending. Not too far from Gatlinburg main street, this is a nice leisurely place away from crowds, yet not far from the main street.

The rooms were spacious and clean. Great view from the room. Close to town yet secluded. Staff was very accommodating and the dinner was superb. They only use seasonal ingredients and all of the food and beverages are made to order. Highly recommend eating dinner during your stay.

Designed to reflect the retreats created in the Adirondack Mountains over 100 years ago by some of the East Coast’s wealthiest families, Buckberry Lodge pampers guests with the true natural grandeur of the Adirondack architectural style. Nestled away high above Gatlinburg, Tennessee, The Woods building offers 14 luxury-suite rooms from 600 square feet to 750 square feet. Rooms feature fireplaces, private balconies, bathrooms with separate showers and Jacuzzi tubs. The majority of our suites have a King bed but we do have a few rooms with 2 Double beds. Rest, recharge, and relax within your suite or enjoy the area attractions of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. Our property is less than 2 miles from the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and all the beauty it holds. We are also less than 2 miles from Downtown Gatlinburg. There is a firepit which overlooks Mt. LeConte – a great spot to unwind & relax. Although we have experienced a great loss since the November 28th fire, we are very fortunate to have The Woods building to share with our guests.
