Had a wonderfully, relaxing weekend at the lodge. The view of Mt. LeConte from our room was breath-taking. We were overall pleased with our stay. The rooms were nicely furnished. We enjoyed the light, complimentary breakfast on the deck overlooking the mountains and made many memories hiking along the lodge trail to the creek-side pavilion with stoked fireplace awaiting our arrival. Such special attention to even the smallest details. I can't wait to sneak back!

It appears our new tradition on our anniversary is to stay at The Lodge at Buckberry Creek (Buckberry)and hike the next day. One of my friends indicated that she would rather go to Hawaii! Not us.
This is our 4th time to stay at Buckberry and it won't be our last.
Everyone there is so friendly, helpful and nice. We have NEVER had a bad experience there. In addition to the wonderful staff, the food is really good too. It is great to have a wonderful meal then walk to your room. No crowds, no driving, very convenient.
I've spoken about how comfortable the rooms are before. One thing we really like is the shower! It is large and roomy and the towels are nice and thick too.
We will be back and one special thing we are planning is to bring our grandchildren next summer for the fireflies. We'll stay at Buckberry and they will transport us to see the fireflies. No worrying about getting on a waiting list for the trolley!

We could have not asked for a more wonderful weekend! The staff, the accommodations, the restaurant- everything met out highest expectations! We had not visited Gatlinburg in 35 years! I'm so glad we did not stay downtown! It was nothing like what I had remembered!

The property was in a great location for our visit to Smoky Mountain Natl Park. The views were beautiful and our room was very nice and clean. The complimentary breakfast was less than expected-we were told it included hot items, which it did not. The room rate had actually increased and we were told this was the reason, yet when we inquired, their only concern was which employee had misinformed us. No apology and certainly no attempt to offer any substitutions, just that "we could order off the a al carte menu for a charge". Even the continental breakfast was lacking-unless you consider raisin bran to be "assorted cereals". We did dine at the restaurant one evening and the food was very good, however, the service was again lacking. Considering the prices that are charged for entrees, the service & overall experience did not measure up.

Thank you for offering a review from your stay with us. We are sorry that there was some miscommunication regarding breakfast and the rate increase. Unfortunately, like other small family-owned businesses, we find that we have to make incremental adjustments to our rates at times, but they are for all-encompassing reasons. We do try to determine how a guests is misinformed, but it is only to prevent the confusion for others. At the time of your departure, we did apologize, and you were given a discounted rate. Since your stay, we have made changes to our breakfast offerings, and are including hot items, in part because of comments and feedback like yours.

What a great place, for a reasonable price. Make sure you hike down to the pavilion. The restaurant is great as well, although not cheap, but still worth it. It's close enough to the park, but far enough away from the tourists trap areas.

This place was wonderful. I'll start of by saying typically I'm not a huge fan of Gatlinburg to touristy for me. But my boyfriend and I wanted to go away for valentines day and try and go somewhere to ski. And my boyfriend surprised me by booking this place. First if you want to ski in Gatlinburg this place is very close. But that aside I can't imagine a better place to stay in Gatlinburg. You didn't even feel like you were in Gatlinburg the lodge is so unique, cozy & romantic I loved the fireplace the lobby. The rooms are huge and really nice rustic yet comfortable and romantic with a real fireplace in keeping with the lodge feel loved the balcony and beautiful views unspoiled by all the hussel of Gatlinburg. The restaurant was awesome 5 stars nothing like any other restaurant I've been to in Gatlinburg food something you'd more expect in a top restaurant in a big city but in a lovely lodge instead. We had breakfast twice and dinner one night all phenomenal. Service was wonderful as well. EVERYONE was very pleseant helpful and accommodating.

A wonderful experience. Great fine dining, mountain views second to none and a first class staff. I would recommend the Buckberry Lodge to my friends and family. All balcony views overlook the Great Smoky Mountains. The rooms are spacious and include a complete kitchen with a full size refrigerator. The bathroom consist of a two person whirlpool with a separate shower.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Lodge at Buckberry Creek has brought the elegance of the “Great Camps” of the Adirondacks to the pristine beauty of the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Designed to reflect the retreats created in the Adirondack Mountains over 100 years ago by some of the East Coast’s wealthiest families, Buckberry Lodge pampers guests with the true natural grandeur of the Adirondack architectural style. Nestled away high above Gatlinburg, Tennessee, The Woods building offers 14 luxury-suite rooms from 600 square feet to 750 square feet. Rooms feature fireplaces, private balconies, bathrooms with separate showers and Jacuzzi tubs. The majority of our suites have a King bed but we do have a few rooms with 2 Double beds. Rest, recharge, and relax within your suite or enjoy the area attractions of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains. Our property is less than 2 miles from the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and all the beauty it holds. We are also less than 2 miles from Downtown Gatlinburg. There is a firepit which overlooks Mt. LeConte – a great spot to unwind & relax. Although we have experienced a great loss since the November 28th fire, we are very fortunate to have The Woods building to share with our guests. We look forward to welcoming you to The Lodge at Buckberry Creek for your Smoky Mountain lodging destination! ... more   less
