I went with my boyfriend and some friends for spring break for 4 nights (we got one free from a March special which added to it's value). Our plan was to relax in the hot tub, do some hiking in the mountains and party. We stayed in "A falcon's nest" at the Pigeon Forge location called Legacy Mountain Resort (there are 2 locations, make sure you know where your cabin is!) Our cabin was beautiful--the kitchen was nice and modern with lots of appliances (electric can opener, 4-slice toaster, blender, dishwasher) and the beds were comfortable. We had 3 separate decks overlooking the mountains, even a washer and dryer. Our thermostat was broken, dishwasher leaked, and after 24 hours our hot tub was still not hot. We had to call maintenance 3 times and they came and fixed everything within a few hours of calling. The maintenance men were nice, and the woman who checked us in was nice.
However, our second night I got a phone call at 3:30 am, we had gone to bed around midnight so I didn't answer, but the woman left a message saying our cabin had had several noise complaints and since it was 3:30 in the morning my credit card was being charged $250 and that I needed to come to the office to sign the slip. I called her back and argued that we had been sleeping and there was no way we could have gotten a noise complaint. The woman said several people had called saying we had been in the outside hot tub splashing and yelling and that it was definitely our cabin, and also that we were the only cabin in the area with lots of people in it (we had 5 in our cabin) so there was no ifs ands or buts about it. She said she would call me back, and she did--still saying it was our cabin and she was going to go ahead and charge my card. She then put me on hold for 10 minutes until she came back and said someone had called and it was the cabin on the corner (which I had suggested it was) so it wasn't us. She might have said "Sorry" before she hung up but nothing close to an apology for the situation. We complained to someone the next day who said they would call me an apologize and they didn't. We were angry for getting woken up so early in the morning, accused of violating the noise rules, being told it was DEFINITELY us and told we were getting such a big fine and not getting at least an apology. It was ridiculous.
That was the only snag in our vacation. The cabin is about 10 minutes up a mountain plus 10 minutes from town, so make sure you don't forget anything from the store before you head back to the cabin! The 20-minute drive just for ketchup or dish soap will get annoying. Enjoy your stay! :)
