“WOULD NOT PAY TO STAY HERE..”
Reviewed 16 March 2010

we went down to gatlinburg for the summer bay resort presentation. I hsould have realized this , since it was free. The room was big , the carpet was moldy ,and nasty. When we walked in it smelled moldy ,like a basement, and there was a big draft in the door.Uncomfortable all nite , either too hot or too cold. The fireplace was thing that was nice , bathroom was too small , but clean.Beds were way too small, and very uncomfy. Asked for more pillows. Ice machine was broke ,so the security man had to bring us our ice from the resort down the street..Another thing is they put $100 on my credit card in case of damage??? now i have to wait 7 days for it to be returned .. that was bull..the room wasnt worth $10...WE HAD A GOOD TIME , THE PRESENTATION TOOK 90 MINUTES AS WE WERE TOLD , AND WE WERENT PRESSURED...OUR TRIP WAS NICE , BUT WE WONT PAY TO EVER STAY AT THE GATLINBURG TOWNE SQUARE... SORRY TO SAY THAT.....

The Gatlinburg Town Village Inn is a small run down hotel across the street from the Gatlinburg Town Village Resort. This is not a hotel that you can book a room or pull up and request one. This is a run down hotel used only for marketing the Resort. This is where you will stay if you sign up for a time share tour /special room rate with Summer Bay Resorts/Town Village Resort. There are 2 good things about this hotel: a gas fireplace and it is clean. Nothing else. The bathroom is tiny, I am 5 feet 4 inches tall and I could easily touch the ceiling. No more than one person can be in the bathroom at a time. The beds are a size I would call a twin and a half and are like sleeping on a concrete slab. The pillows are like putting your head on an empty pillowcase. The employees are miserable and mean. There is NO maid service and parking is VERY limited, although you might be able to park 2 blocks down and across the street if you ask. I will never stay here again, even if free. The time share tour took 90 minutes and was very low pressure. I was not asked more than once to buy their $4400 "resort club membership". This was the best price, after the initial $6000 offer. I took my $50 Hard Rock Restaurant gift certificate (was promised a $75 dollar one) and ran.

Me and my husband bought some timeshare this pass April, we were under the impression that we were purchasing property at the Gatlinburg Town Square Resort at least that is the propery we were shown durning the tour. Which the contract said at 74 dollars a month. So we tried to book an owners stay which they say was free at first, then we had to pay 55dollars and also they hold a 100 dollars on your credit card for security purposes they say. At first they try to put us in the hotel up the street which call the gatlinburg village inn, then I was not satisfied because that is not what we paying on, then they put us in a studio condo which it did not have a living room a full size kitchen or an eating area which the salesman showed us a condo that had all of that and said that is what we are purchasing, so we had to go to another follow up meeting which they try to sale us so more time share which would cost us 123 dollars a month so we can stay in the resort which we thought we had purchase, I was so up set, so it would make one think that we have been con, in so many ways. So please when you go to an tour through summer bay resort please pay attention to the fast talking saleman, that just want commission!!!! over all the 1 bedroom condo at the resort is very nice.

Thought it wouldnt be that bad to do a little 90 min seminar, but let me warn you these people are crazy. They will not take no for an answer. They want you to sign your life away while you are there financing $28,000or more! They called us liers because we told them we couldnt afford the monthly payment! They was very rude and pushy, Beware! They also put us in a little rinky dink room with a 3' by 3' window with no view. The bed felt like the floor and the linen was dirty. I was told I was getting a room overlooking the creek, ha whatever! It was a mile from the main strip. Will not stay again.

Just returned. Had a 2 bedoom suite. Very clean. Beautiful view. Well stocked kitchen. Jacuzzi in king size bedroom. If you are in a studio...you get what you pay for! Thoroughly enjoyed and will take the family back.

We had a timeshare in Hawaii which can also book other location. So, we gave this a shot. After reading those review, I was scared. I brought my own pillow just in case.

We checked in with no problem. The room looked very clean. The kitchen area is decent. It's a studio. It's not king size bed and the sofa bed caved in a bit. Not too comfy. I guess we stay in the newer phase for town village. The town sq across the street does look much better.

We just did laundry. Got the front desk and ask for detergent with no problem. I think the hotel is ok. A bit far from the town. It's 5-10 mins walk uphill. There is no trolley ride in Nov.

I booked this hotel through RCI. It was our first time using our timeshare for a trade week. I found the reviews on this website to be Very scary! I even looked for other hotels in the area in case the previous reviews were correct. We were given a very nice 1 bedroom unit in the Town Village. The Check in took all of 10 minutes. We hauled four 4-wheelers on a trailer and the hotel was very accomodating to our trailer. We had our 16 yr old and 15 yr old with us. They loved that the kitchen was stocked with all the appliances and dishes you would need. They each made ice cream shakes several nights with the blender that was provided in the stocked kitchen. It was very clean and we had a private outdoor balcony. There was a washer and dryer down the sidewalk from our room and it was free. Activities were planned everyday, although we only went to the Meet and Greet. That was where the hotel brought in several (maybe 12-15 ) promoters of the various things to do in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, they tell you a little about what they offer and then give away free stuff. We got a free pass to go whitewater rafting where we had already booked reservations. So that saved us around $40. The hotel was off the main drag so it was quiet, but everything was within walking distance. The hotel is up a hill form the main drag and sometimes was a little workout, but that just meant that I wouldn't have to use the fitness room. The Town Village is associated with Gatlinburg Town Square and they let you use any amenities of the Town Square. But we had an outdoor swimming pool at our complex and we were too busy use much more than that.
We were invited to a RCI meeting to "update" us on how the timeshare company was changing. It turned out to be a sales pitch and took up about 3 hours after touring their condo unit at
Town Square. But we did receive gifts that made up for the time.
All in all, we were treated Very Good, and there was alot of stuff to do in the area. The hotel was great!

  • Liked — location, cleanliness
  • Disliked — Turning in dirty towels for clean ones before 11 am although they give you alot of towel to start with.
