“Spring Break Fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2014

We just returned from Gatlinburg for Spring Break - we stayed at Tree Tops. You get a great mountain&/or stream view from each room. We had a 2 bdr in bdg 6 (w/elevator) & a 2bdr w/loft (so 3 bedroom) Pedistal cottage. BOTH were recently updated. The indoor heated pool was fabulous - plus when it got over 70* they opened the outdoor heated pool - which my kids really enjoyed. They also have many hot tubs all around the resort. Our rooms had flat screen tv's & up to date appliances, a gas fire place, new furniture, new pillow top mattresses and a huge double whirlpool tub & shower. There was an onsite playground which our kids loved plus daily activities put on by the resort. (if you have work to do while on vaca - I suggest bringing a wifi booster- it's a little slow). Like any resort/hotel - download a white noise nap for sleeping. Food City Grocery is just about a mile away. You are just a couple minute drive from downtown Gatlinburg & prob 12-15 mins to Pigeon Forge. Def follow the Tree Top Directions not your GPS on finding the resort. Couple money saving tips: Ober Gatlinburg - ride the tram up (good for 2 days as many rides as you want $1 off coupon in books) - once up there buy the BRACELET (this is NOT advertised - but is only $17 for unlimited rides on alpine slide, ice skating, carousel, etc (otherwise they are $9 each ride). The Track in Pigeon Forge has a bracelet that again not advertised that's only $16 for 2 hrs. Huge savings. The Speedway - has a $29 bracelet for your entire week (good for 30 days) - or $20 for 1 day. Three Bears Store in Pigeon Forge - print off their coupons from computer before you go - lots of bogo coupons that are not found in the coupon books - my kids loved to feed the bears there. Def eat at No Way Jose Mexican - best fresh salsa ever!!! do NOT order Geno's pizza unless you like to eat cardboard. Enjoy Tree Tops!!!

My family stayed recently in the Bear Necessity Cabin this past week and it was wonderful!! The cabin was clean, cute, and was beyond the bear necessities! It included a hot tub, and game room, TV's in each room and the kitchen was equipped with what you needed. We had a wonderful time touring Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Seiverville and the location of the cabin made it very easy to see all the attractions! I would highly recommend this to anyone. All the staff was also friendly in the office and made sure all our questions were answered! Loved it!

We made reservations months ago - we called the day we were scheduled to arrive and we asked what needed to be done should we not make it there the night of or really late. They took a little to answer but in the end they answered and we were good to go from there.

Checking In
-------------------
Finding the location was not too bad if you are using navigation. When we arrived the folks in the office did not feel really welcoming, it was a bit cold like the weather. If I were being offered an opportunity to purchase at this resort I would not buy because it was not welcoming at all. None the less we proceeded. We were assigned a room in building number 2.

NOTE: If you are given a room in buildings 1, 2, or 3, ask for another room. We did not know and upon driving to our building we quickly learned our room was on the third floor and there was no elevator. However, to add insult to injury, there are elevator carts right where we parked.

Rooms
----------
The rooms are a bit gloomy, the lighting can be improved to make the rooms feel a little more welcoming, even the paint. I believe they are in the process of renovating some of the rooms. The cooling / heating system worked great, no issues there. There is a little kitchen and everything was clean. The bathrooms were nicely sized and so were the rooms.

Checking Out
--------------------
There are a bunch of things you have to go through before you leave. One of which is take out the trash - no biggie right - wrong - you can take the trash out but it is not properly marked where you have to take the garbage.

I honestly feel like there are better choices. Tree Tops Resort leaves a lot to be desired. Perhaps we are spoiled by other resorts we have gone to.

Follow the resort driving instructions, Have the resort phone number handy because if you follow some GPS, it comes up with some weird directions. After that hint, everything else here is about perfect. SERVICE: Excellent. Check in was efficient, personnel super friendly. VALUE: Excellent. We were assigned to a pedestal unit at the top of the hill. This was a stand alone house- as private as you can get. Beautiful. Gas fireplace, upstairs bedroom in addition to the two bedrooms on the main floor. SLEEP QUALITY: Excellent. Comfortable bed and top notch furnishings. CLEAN: Excellent. LOCATION: Excellent. About 1.5 miles from the downtown strip so close but also up in the hills with the streams and incredible view. There is a paved path down to the recreation building. Good workup on the way back up. Racquetball, indoor heated pool and whirlpool, games check out. ROOM: Excellent. I could easily live in a place like this from now on. OVERALL: EXCELLENT!! We enjoyed the unit and kitchen facilities and fireplace and view so much we seldom ventured off the resort property. HINT!!! We were snowed in a couple of days- great to be in the mountains with view and fireplace- but in the winter, February especially- have food and supplies on hand if needed. Not that many activities in the off season, but we managed to keep ourselves entertained. Truly a home away from home. If only I could be insured of obtaining this unit again............... ahhhhhhh. We really lucked out!!!

This is the type of resort that you love to stay in.
Easy check-in, easy check-out.
Clean, spacious , nice parking.

If you need something to get fixed .... they will fix it promptly.

If you plan to stay in Gatlinburg is one of the top spots to choose from.

We had a wonderful stay at Tree Tops resort from 12/13-12/19! We absolutely loved the location, which is down a nice winding road away from the high traffic area of downtown! Not far at all from the downtown attractions, yet far enough to feel like you are nestled further out. Stayed in Bldg. 6 in a two bed/two bath unit that was a bit dated but very comfortable, cozy, clean, and quiet. We loved the gas fireplace and our balcony offered a beautiful view of the courtyard holiday decorations and mountainside scenery. All staff members were very welcoming, helpful, professional and friendly. My sons really enjoyed playing Ping-Pong (even though it was cold outside!!!), and the hot tubs. The grounds were kept very clean and neat! We will definitely return and would highly recommend.

We checked in late and the security guys were great...followed them up the mountain to our loft unit (we never would have found it without them!) I expected a nice unit with two bedrooms but what we got was so much better. Even though the loft units are a bit dated, the space, views and washer/dryer more than made up for it. It was a great surprise! After climbing the stairs, we entered into a small but adequate kitchen. There was a queen bedroom off to the back right with hall bath and closeted stacked washer/dryer, then a decent size dining area with a balcony and a large living area with sofa, 2 recliners and a gas fireplace. Our king size bedroom included another balcony, had a comfy bed and bathroom with a huge jacuzzi and separate shower. The best thing about this unit is the loft area...go up the stairs in front of the dining area and there are two twin beds, two closets and a cute little area overlooking the living room (but if you're tall, be careful that you avoid the beam over the rail...I almost knocked myself out looking over, LOL!). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and so did all the family.
