This is one of the first resorts built when the Smokey Mountains was recognized as a park. It has been around for years. The rooms may be dated but that is out shined by the wonderful staff. We loved the creek in the back which flows off of Roaring Forks. The pool was nice and the breakfast was a traditional free breakfast with great biscuits and gravy. The staff was very helpful when we needed help and the location is only a short walk to the downtown which is nice due to low traffic in front of the resort. We will be coming back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the creek!

First time ever visiting Gatlinburg, picked this hotel from Booking.com got a great rate for 6 days. Personnel at check in was nice, switched our room for a smoking room, gave us direction to room and got settled. This place is a great place to stay, balcony's overlook the creek in the back and is very peaceful. My only compliant is the facility WiFi was horrible, the signal was very poor and iPad and laptop had hard time connecting and staying connected in the room. If they fix this small problem, it would be my first choice to stay when we go back.

This hotel was absolutely horrible to say the least. We went down for my brothers wedding and tried to check in but the room wasn't clean yet. We had to get ready out of their public restroom. So we went out for the day and came back at about 11:30 pm exhausted. There was no one at the front desk to give us our key. When we went into the room it was disgusting! One of the beds had blood stains on the sheet. There was cob webs and spiders in every corner of the room. Our pillows had hair all over them and the bathroom had genital hair literally everywhere. The towels were wet for some reason and we hadn't even used them. The room is outdated along with the bathroom as there was missing tiles. The showers are stained with something gross. And if you want to use the elevator be prepared for frustration because you have to hold the button down or the elevator will just keep passing your floor. We tried to get a refund the next day but they said you should have checked out the night before. When you come back from Gatlinburg all day the last thing you feel like doing is running around at midnight trying to find a vacant hotel. They gave us a $20 refund and basically said its not our problem. The location of this hotel is nice but that's about the only thing as its also overpriced compared to all of the other hotels.

Been staying there for years meeting with family & friends. Always make reservations for the next season
before we leave & 2013 was no exception. I have had my confirmation for 2014 dates of arrival, date of departure, confirm number along with the number of the cabin we have stayed in for years & years. I called in May to change one date only to find out they had rented the cabin to another group who had paid their bill in advance and we were left completely high & dry even holding the reservations. We were given 2 separate rooms in the main building where we were told they had given us a great deal on the price! The accommodations didn't come close to what we were used to in the cabin we had reserved! We probably won't be returning to this establishment giving up almost 40 years of fun & fellowship with really great friends. I am bitterly disappointed in the treatment we received from the brookside!!!

Room was not at all what was pictured on the website. Tub was nasty, we went to get tub cleaner before we could even shower. Refrigerator was so dirty and iced over you could not use it. Carpet was nasty and was never vacuumed the four days we stayed. We had to go to the office to get our towels. Will not stay there again.

Stayed at Brookside July 7-11, 2014. The Expedia add promised elevators. There were none in the building that our room was in. Our room was on the 2nd floor. There was a steep ramp that went up to the 2nd floor level. Both my husband and I have trouble walking, and struggling up that ramp with one week's worth of luggage and other sundry was not easy. The refrigerator door would not stay closed without something up against it; and was never repaired even though we reported it the 2nd day. There were no safety handholds in the bathtub. The trash was not emptied all week. We went to the office and picked up our own clean towels and toilet paper. Although the staff was friendly, they had no knowledge of any restaurants or activities in the area and did not know where the vending machines were or where we could get ice. Although the brook running in the back was pretty, and one of the memorable sights at the hotel, we will not stay there again.

We recently went to Gatlinburg and decided to stay at Brookside Resort - Our daughter had her wedding reception there are couple years ago. We had 3 rooms and were pleased with the rooms. They were spacious, had a breakfast area with microwave and fridge, I loved the back little patio with a brook running behind the room. The staff was very pleasant. On the downside the breakfast buffet was not great but not bad! This is an older hotel but overall we were very pleased.
