Upon arriving at the Greenbelt Marriott the first impression was "wow" what a beautiful place. That impression continued the whole weekend. The rooms were wonderful with the plush beds and bedding, decorated beautifully and very clean. The service was excellent. Every person from the front desk, wait staff, chef, managers and room service could not do enough for us. We would recommend the Greenbelt Marriott to everyone traveling down to Maryland and we are looking forward to our next visit.

We only stayed there one night, but the hotel was just beautiful and our room was lovely. The main dining room was closed, but they offered food in the bar. They also had a Starbuck's Deli in the lobby. They have a shuttle service to the Greenbelt of the Green Line Metro. We were there to visit the Smithsonian and this made it very convenient because we could leave our car behind.

We arrived at the Marriott with our group on July 25, shortly after a tornado like storm went through the area. The power was out and the hotel was running the bar minimum on generator power. The front desk service was awesome, they walked us up 1 room at a time, letting us in our rooms personally as they couldn't give us room keys. The restaurant started grilling items and fed our group as they came in on a bus.

The power was restored early the next morning and the desk was helpful getting our room keys to us quickly and were quick to answer any questions about the local area as well as assist us in any way. The rooms where clean - looked as if they recently remodeled...the lobby seems to be in the process of getting ready to be remodeled......seems a little worn. They had a nice indoor and outdoor pool and the bar area was nice. It is a 20 minute drive to downtown, 5 minutes from the University of Maryland and close to restaurants and shopping.

only downfall was free wireless only in lobby unless you are in a room above the lobby then if you sit by the window, you can get it in your room.

This hotel was the first stop on our honeymoon (on our way to Baltimore for a cruise). Our room was on the fifteenth floor and had an amazing view, we could see the Washington Monument and all of the beautiful fall foliage. The rooms were well stocked with perfectly plush beds and a flat screen. The hotel had one of the best breakfast buffets I have seen. There is a Starbucks on the first floor. The staff were also very nice and friendly.

I have stayed at this property many times for various business meetings. The hotel and rooms are nice (typical renovated Marriott rooms) - never had any problems. There is a Starbucks in the lobby. The hotel is not located close to any restaurants but it is convenient to the Beltway. The food in the restaurant is OK - what you would expect for hotel food. Upper level rooms on the back of the hotel have distant views to the Capital and Washington monument. The Concierge Lounge was very nice - but it's pretty small and was crowded when I visited in the evening. They offered a nice selection of refreshments including a couple of hot items. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating.

Good hotel overall and would not hesitate to stay there again.Stayed here on business and the hotel was very nice. We had several requests of the staff to help us setup a meeting room for us at the last minute and they excelled. So overall:
1. Hotel was typical Marriott... well furnished room, clean, reasonable size
2. Staff was really excellent... very friendly and go the extra mile for you.
3. Resturant: They seem to pull in a good crowd for breakfast but somewhat sparse for lunch and dinner. I would guess the reason is the food is so so. Nothing to write home about and expensive.
4. Location:
A. Great for transportation: Can catch a bus from Baltimore Airport - BWI (for a cheap flight to DC use BWI) usually anywhere from 1/2 to 70% cheaper than Reagan. It will drop you off at the Green LIne Metro station and the Marriott shuttle will pick you up there. Need to check the hotel shuttle times. By the way, the cost of the Bus from BWI to the GreenBelt Station is $3.10...... Also you can catch the shuttle to the Metro Station and ride it into DC at a very reasonable cost.
B. Not so great for anything to do in the area: you will need a cab or rental car to go anywhere such as shopping or resturants. So this is a draw back.

If you go there have a great stay.
